Elizabeth and Jackson Shore married young, raised two daughters, and weathered the storms of youth as they built a future together. But after the children leave home, they quietly drift apart. When Jack accepts a wonderful new job offer, Elizabeth puts her needs aside to follow him across the country. Until the sudden death of her father changes everything. Grieving and alone, she retreats to an isolated beach house where she packs away the last remnants of her parents' lives. There, the pieces of a past she never knew unfold to reveal a tender story of lasting devotion, the kind of steadfast commitment that Elizabeth admits is missing from her own marriage. Faced with her own disillusionment, she makes a terrifying decision, risking everything she has for a second chance at happiness.©2002 Kristin Hannah (P)2004 Brilliance Audio, Inc. It kept my interest until the end.
It wasn’t amazing, but a good enough read for me to try another of her books.

It was ok

Be prepared to cry! It’s a great book about life and relationships. And it wasn’t boring at all, I finished it in 2 days. Only negative was the narrator. The voices of the characters were good, but the rest of the sentences sounded pressured and rushed, and had the same intonation regardless of what was being said. That’s why I gave performance a 4

Excellent book!

This book as a great listen. It really touches on how one can loose themselves when we become mothers.

Narration was excellent. Teaches you a lot about one’s own life. How things can work out in the end.

Excellent emotional story,

The story was fairly good, and it was interesting to see large Marge show up again. Elizabeth’s friend seemed to be a carbon copy of the best friend in firefly Lane, so that was a little disappointing. It should be taken into account that this book was 2012 and the writer has written some amazing books since then I think more care should be taken and choosing the narrator because it makes her breaks the story.

The narration was not that good
