Publisher's Summary

From the master of the space opera comes a dark, mind-bending adventure spread across time and space, where Doctor Silas Coade is tasked with keeping his crew safe as they adventure across the galaxy in search of a mysterious artifact.

In the 1800s, a sailing ship crashes off the coast of Norway. In the 1900s, a Zepellin explores an icy canyon in Antarctica. In the far future, a spaceship sets out for an alien artifact. Each excursion goes horribly wrong. And on every journey, Dr. Silas Coade is the physician, but only Silas seems to realize that these events keep repeating themselves. And it's up to him to figure out why and how. And how to stop it all from happening again.

Found it very dull

I have an hour left to listen to but I can take no more. The story is dull, characters forgettable, just found it very disappointing. I’m pretty sure I know where the story is going to end but I’m really not interested in finding out.

Wow this was amazing

It demands a little patience from the listener, with its mysterious time-looping plot. But we’ll worth it. Masterful writing and narration both.

This one here, this is why you love sci-fi.

Absolutely masterful writing...how do you get this good!?! He goes for this super intricate narrative arc and just absolutely nails it. Delightfully clever, brilliantly intertwined and emotionally very powerful.
Reynolds is one of the Greats, even in this short format, The performance is simply arresting, right there doing the narrative justice, Two masters of their crafts meeting up like this is a downright privilege. So glad I got to enjoy the audiobook version of this story.

Charge your battery before starting

Alastair Reynolds continues to fill me with awe. Beautifully written story and the emotional depth Harry Myers puts into the narration should qualify him for an award nomination. Great story, with multidimensional characters, presented in a way that does it justice. Cheers

Al does A.I. Best

Al just gets better and better… fantastic characters and impeccable performance by Harry. Eversion is a fantastic narrative of stories that define what it is to be human and the nature of empathy to others all woven into an adventure that transcends time and space that only Alastair Reynolds can weave. A classic!

A decent story with an interesting style from an excellent author

The style of the story was well done, and felt fresh. There were plenty of moments to enjoy chewing on the mystery of the plot. As always, Reynolds gives the reader a genuine puzzle and respectfully avoids red herrings.

The story was immersive, and the structure allowed for an impressive variety of settings without being jarring or overwhelming.

The ending felt a bit too “clean and tidy”. I usually walk away with some extra stuff to chew on. Not so much this time, but there were other unique aspects of this book that I really enjoyed to make up for it.

Also, the narrator did an excellent job! I love John Lee, and I was momentarily disappointed when I realized I didn’t recognize the narrator’s voice, TIL Harry Myers is also a fantastic narrator 🎉
