Publisher's Summary

Welcome to the neighborhood. Watch your husband, watch your friends, and watch your back.

Cat Winthorpe has worked hard to get what she has: a gorgeous home; social standing; and William, her successful, handsome husband. Then a friendly new couple moves into the estate next door. While cautious, a good neighbor like Cat greets them with open arms and warm hospitality.

Neena Ryder isn’t a fellow lady of leisure. A life coach with off-the-rack dresses, personal issues, and a husband who hasn’t delivered, she’s anxious to move up in the world. This beautiful new town is a step in the right direction. It’s also making Neena aware of what she doesn’t have. Namely, William. When Neena’s infatuation escalates into obsession, it’s just a matter of eliminating a few obstacles to get the life she wants. The life next door.

As Neena’s secret fixation grows, so does her friendship with Cat. But beneath their cordial interactions is a wealth of temptations, secrets, and toxic jealousy. For both women, the desire for a perfect life can turn perfectly dangerous.

“A glamorous and seductive novel that will suck you in and knock you sideways. I love this story, these characters, and the raw emotion they generated in me. I devoured every word. Exceptional.” (Tarryn Fisher, New York Times best-selling author)

so scandalous

I loved Nina and Cat's "cat and mouse" game of manipulation. Cat is one of the best main characters I have read in while, in regards to her wit and tenacity.

Fun page turner, love to see a villain pay!

This was a fun page turner I was able to zip through within the week. Nice to see the villain get her just desserts!

Expected better

Predictable, not on point/believable at many moments, I kept looking to see how much left to listen to because I can’t not finish a book. Did not leave me wanting more.

Wealth does not equate to happiness.

A book told from the perspectives of the two main characters. Wealthy socialite Cat Winthorpe worked hard to get the prestigious reputation she has. Volunteering on committees, donating to fund raisers and working along side her husband William, supporting him while he runs multiple successful companies. They are best friends. Their marriage is rock solid. But even rocks have cracks in them...

Neena Ryder has come from nothing. And has made herself something to be reckoned with. She's got an established career, a devoted husband who runs his own business. She is fit and pretty and in a job position of respect as Dr Ryder. But is it enough?

When Cat starts to suspect that Neena is not interested in keeping her relationship strictly professional with William, she is determined to ensure her husband doesn't stray. The women's tug-of-war is covert and as drama filled as one might expect to find in an affluent gated community.

I so enjoyed that every character in the book was flawed. Some were worse than others, but in the end they all wanted the same thing, a love full of acceptance and loyalty. No matter the cost.
