Every mile takes us further from who we used to be.

Logan

I've always lived a structured life. Every box was checked, every decision planned, right down to the color-coded polos in my closet. Neat, orderly, by the book—just like I was raised. It's what made Salem and me so good together.

But it didn't stop her from hating me. It didn't stop the news about my adoption from shattering everything I thought I knew. And it sure as hell didn't prepare me for the questions rising from the truth: about who I am, what I want, and who I've been pretending to be.

I don't even recognize the man in the mirror anymore. But maybe I never really knew him at all.

Salem

I see the world in snapshots. Shadows and light, moments I can control or manipulate with my camera—unlike everything else.

My mother always said I was heartless, yet the one person I let myself love left me behind in Vegas with a ring on my finger and no goodbye. I'd rather be alone than use a man as a crutch like she did. I thought staying away would save us both the heartache. He's no longer the guy I knew, and I'm no longer naive.

The universe has a way of crashing all my plans, and sometimes, the only path out of the wreckage... is through it.

Exposing Colorado is a full-length, MF, enemies-to-lovers romance for mature listeners. Both characters are consenting adults. This story features a reluctantly married FMC, second chances, a queer awakening, and a non-monogamous HEA. A complete list of content warnings can be found on the author's website.

This is book three in the State of Us series and must be listened to after Crossing Arizona.

i don’t even know what i think of this book. it was confusing, i did find it dragged a lot . the main couple was messy and the ending felt rushed and also added new characters to the relationship that just didn’t make any sense and left me unsatisfied. there were parts i enjoyed, especially the side characters. i found the story skipped over important parts of the story and i really did not like the ending . it’s definitely necessary to complete the series but something felt off. the book was not what i expected and from the other books it didn’t make sense what they changed about Logan’s character.

confusing and not what i expected

I got this book after listening to the first two, and it was a big letdown. I tried finishing but stopped after chapter 10. It is just so repetitive. Salem is an unlikable character, and Logan isn't any better. It just got tedious listening to them complain about the same things. Salem was mean and rude to everyone for no solid reason. Logan is so indecisive to the point it becomes annoying, and their friends/found family felt off in this book. I just couldn't, and I'm annoyed at myself for wasting a credit when I suspected this wouldn't be as good as the first two.

Books 1 and 2 are better, and this could have been a novella.
