At least that was the case for me and the men I trusted my foolish heart to.⁣ Looking back, I’m convinced I willed my story into existence, due to my illness, and all were punished.

You are better going into this book and series without having an idea of what you are reading. The audiobook and narrators for the series are absolutely amazing, can't say enough great things about this series.
