Publisher's Summary

Red Rising hit the ground running and wasted no time becoming a sensation. Golden Son continues the stunning saga of Darrow, a rebel forged by tragedy, battling to lead his oppressed people to freedom.

Adapted from the novel and produced with a full cast of actors, immersive sound effects and cinematic music!

As a Red, Darrow grew up working the mines deep beneath the surface of Mars, enduring backbreaking labor while dreaming of the better future he was building for his descendants. But the Society he faithfully served was built on lies. Darrow’s kind have been betrayed and denied by their elitist masters, the Golds—and their only path to liberation is revolution. And so Darrow sacrifices himself in the name of the greater good for which Eo, his true love and inspiration, laid down her own life. He becomes a Gold, infiltrating their privileged realm so that he can destroy it from within.

A lamb among wolves in a cruel world, Darrow finds friendship, respect, and even love—but also the wrath of powerful rivals. To wage and win the war that will change humankind’s destiny, Darrow must confront the treachery arrayed against him, overcome his all-too-human desire for retribution—and strive not for violent revolt but a hopeful rebirth. Though the road ahead is fraught with danger and deceit, Darrow must choose to follow Eo’s principles of love and justice to free his people.

He must live for more.

Incredible, 10/10, A couple voice castings off.

The good:
The quality overall is amazing.
Powerful emotional moments retold in new ways hit me super hard.
Music choice is excellent - Very Mass Effect vibes - definitely lets you know its sci fi but without being too weird.
In general this feels very special and I can't wait to hear the rest of the story in this format. I've read all the books, done all the audiobooks, and this really made it feel fresh and special.
Great audio quality.
Most of the voices are exceptionally well cast. Absolutely love Darrow and Mustang's. Nero is perfect, Lorn is great. etc etc. Roque is good but it does sound a bit like he's trying to bang Darrow sometimes. Victra, Tactus, etc. The list goes on.

Areas for improvement:
Every voice actor puts their heart and soul into their performances and I appreciate the hard work, but some characters seem miscast.
- Cassius feels way off for what he should be. He sounds like a big 'ol jerk and the charisma and playfulness really doesn't seem to make it in. I wish someone else voiced him here - no shade at the VA who worked his ass off. But I'm going to have a hard time loving him the way I do in the books as the story progresses going forward with that voice. It just sounds very off to me. I haven't done Red Rising in Dramatization yet, so maybe he's better there when he's in a better place, I'll have to go back and check it out.
-The Jackal is probably the most bizarre: Again, the voice actor is incredible, reminds me of an even harder edged Joker, but the Jackal isn't supposed to be this openly aggressive, violent voice, he's more subdued, silent, crafty, understated etc. The VA makes him sound more like what I would expect someone huge, volatile, and violent like Karnus to sound like.
- I really just don't like Harmony's voice - it's not working for me.
- Can we get even more bass/echo on Ragnar?
- Telemanus gets mispronounced and it makes me sad every time.
- Sevro also just doesn't sound right to me. I think this one is the most personal taste on my list. But he's a bit wormy-er than I pictured him vocally.

This is still a 5/5 for me but I feel like I care enough to throw feedback out there in the hopes that maybe if enough people agree we could get these adjusted in future. I would literally buy voice packs / edits with these character VA's adjusted.
