Season 2 of Good Omens coming soon!
“Reads like the Book of Revelation, rewritten by Monty Python.” — San Francisco Chronicle
The classic novel of angels, demons, and Armageddon from the internationally bestselling authors Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett, now a Prime original series starring Michael Sheen and David Tennant.
According to The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch (the world's only completely accurate book of prophecies, written in 1655, before she exploded), the world will end on a Saturday. Next Saturday, in fact. Just before dinner.
So the armies of Good and Evil are amassing, Atlantis is rising, frogs are falling, tempers are flaring. Everything appears to be going according to Divine Plan. Except a somewhat fussy angel and a fast-living demon—both of whom have lived amongst Earth's mortals since The Beginning and have grown rather fond of the lifestyle—are not actually looking forward to the coming Rapture.
And someone seems to have misplaced the Antichrist . . .

Some of the greatest additions to the world of dark fantasy, graphic novels, and twisted fairy tales are Neil Gaiman’s books. A master of his craft, he has produced some truly epic tales full of mythical creatures, deceitful demons, tricky spirits, Norse gods, and hellish monsters. Gaiman's works are so distinct and well thought out that they have amassed a strong following of Gaiman fans. Here we've compiled our list of the best Neil Gaiman books to date.
This is a fun story. Consuming it in three different ways in the course of a week, each time enjoying the work, catching different details, perhaps warns of how much I truly enjoyed it. I originally read the book years ago (when it was first released I think, if not then shortly after) and then a couple of times since. Terry Pratchett remains one of my favourite authors and Neil Gaiman isn't much further down the list.
We have the story woven from two authors, each bringing their voice to different aspects of the whole. In the book there isn't as often a jarring shift when we have the Tadpole village sections (which others have attributed to Terry Pratchett - I cannot say if their assessment is true or not) to the Angel/Demon team-up trying to save the world story aspects. The TV series wasn't quite as smooth as the book, trimming the story a touch to shape it in what is half the duration of the audiobook.
So we have more time with each of the minor characters, almost all getting at least three appearances in the book. We learn about the other four horsemen of the apocalypse and other details of humorous intent.
I enjoy the story a great deal. Having the ability to listen to it while I work on other things was great and I know I will return to this story at least once a year. The reading here is great and I had no issues at all with it. Overall, if you watched the TV show - the book is better. This is a great way to get the book.
