Listen, I know heartbreak is in the title … but I went in unprepared. This book hit me right in the heart.

She’s builds a good story and is really good at describing emotions, this is a really good book not just the traditional sexy story with no content s, favourite new author.

What a beautiful love story. Torn but beautiful! Difficult subject. A bit unrealistic as of the treatment of psychological trauma but hopefulness is the goal.

This is a phenomenal story, with amazing heart! The authors really capture unimaginable situations and pull you in heart first. I cried for 90% of the book. The female narrator is a tad monotonous at times but it was still an amazing listen! Definitely worth the time! Loved this book and will likely come back to it in the future!

Ok. This gutted me.
So well written. The narrators were amazing.

I was so angry with Scottie at times, especially for how she treated Briggs. I lost sleep wondering what ending could ever make me feel good at the end of this book. But, wow. So glad I listened.

This book broke my heart and put it back together so many times it's unbelievable! The story depicts the realities of war for the deployed, their families and the difficulties faced and the emotions soldiers live with after! It is heart wrenching, sad, hopeful, full of uncertainty and unconditional love. The gist of the story is about a married woman soldier with a child that is deployed in Irak for a year. Though she finds it hard to leave her family and acclimate to her new reality, she is befriended by a group of guys. After a horrible ambush she is captured and tortured with Briggs, the one guy she has been avoiding. The horrendous experience creates feelings between them that can't be denied, but are! This is difficult to read, multiple pov's makes it a gut wrenching read, with an ending that is sad but satisfying.

Army medic Katy leaves her husband, Gavin, and her son Noah behind when she is deployed to Iraq with her best friend. Shortly after arriving, they meet Briggs, an infantry soldier and epic flirt, whose advances she has to rebuke on more than one occasion.

Following an ambush, Katy finds herself in an unimaginable situation, which makes returning home to her normal life a challenge, and yet no matter how hard she tries, she can’t seem to find the person she once was, or let go of what she found while she was away.

Honestly, I don’t even know what to say about this book, only that it broke me and put me back together in the best possible way.

Reading the synopsis, I didn’t really know what to expect, thinking it was going to be a book about an affair and that I’d end up hating one person and maybe begrudgingly loving another. But it didn’t even come close to that. Honestly, throughout the entire book, I couldn’t say how I wanted it to end. To see such pure love, in so many forms, there were truly no good guys or bad guys

The female narrator wasn’t great, she was very monotone. I got confused a few times with past memories, but overall it was a cute but heartbreaking story
