Publisher's Summary

If you only listen to one thriller this year....

"A great modern gothic. Ellison outdid herself - what an ending!" (Catherine Coulter, number one NYT best-selling author of VORTEX)

Fast-paced and brilliantly unpredictable, J.T. Ellison’s breathtaking new novel invites you to a wedding none will forget - and some won’t survive.

Jutting from sparkling turquoise waters off the Italian coast, Isle Isola is an idyllic setting for a wedding. In the majestic cliff-top villa owned by the wealthy Compton family, up-and-coming artist Claire Hunter will marry handsome, charming Jack Compton, surrounded by close family, intimate friends…and a host of dark secrets.

From the moment Claire sets foot on the island, something seems amiss. Skeletal remains have just been found. There are other, newer disturbances, too. Menacing texts. A ruined wedding dress. And one troubling shadow hanging over Claire’s otherwise blissful relationship - the strange mystery surrounding Jack’s first wife.

Then a raging storm descends, the power goes out - and the real terror begins....

You won't be able to guess what happens in the end!

So many eye rolls..

So many unbelievable parts to the story. I kept thinking it would get better but....sadly nope. It was hard to relate to any of the characters and if I heard “darling” one more time! Uuugh! Not worth a credit. Skip this one.

Her Dark Lies

JT Ellison has done it again, wow everything about this book/listen is excellent and the ending as always will lead you to wondering. The characters and narration are perfect. Already looking forward to her next book.

NOT a Thriller or Suspense

This book was absolute torture to listen to. It was incredibly cliché and lame.
Poor petite, beautiful, struggling girl who is down on her luck gets swept off her feet by a billionaire who wants nothing more than to pamper and protect her(puke). You hear protect in the book a lot. As if having money gives you a "protection" force field.  Not to mention the predictably. I mean come on here. Having this "mysterious" trouble making woman who just so happens to have a similar name as the "dead" wife's, but with the letters scrambled. What a twist....For having all the money in the world to spend on security, plus making all of their money in technology they sure do a sh* job of it in this story. Infact, I don't think they could make their way out of a paper bag.
I hate trashy romance novels. I wouldn't necessarily categorize this with those, but it's definitely not a thriller or a suspense novel. I would have passed  the book after reading the bio, if it wouldn't have been listed with the suspense and thrillers.

A favorite narrator

Chose this as a credit due to narrator. For me the story was good and did keep me intrigued, however the ending was a bit of a letdown and fairly predictable. The characters were enjoyable. If you’re wanting to read about a wedding in Italy with Italian food and landscape, this isn’t that book, but a good murder mystery taking place around a castle like villa on a cliff.

Great mystery, not so great ending.

The mystery was well done, though I suspected the ending for some time. Rather disappointed. Claire stays with Jack after all that happened. Both are pawns as far as I can tell. Still, Brittany did an amazing job.

Good story

I enjoyed this book. Brittany Pressley is my favorite narrator, so that probably biased my opinion.

Intriguing...

Filled with twists and turns! You won't want to stop listening as the story unfolds. The comradery amongst the brothers is genuine and makes you grin, thinking of your brothers or cousins. Cheers to the strong women of this novel ~ taking care of business! You'll be happy with this choice!

disappointing ending

VERY predictable ending, I guessed it way before halfway through...like nearly every part of the ending I saw coming a mile away. I do love the narrator. I like to end reviews on a good note.
