Publisher's Summary
In Matheson's vampire classic I Am Legend, a plague has decimated the world and transformed the unfortunate survivors into bloodthirsty creatures of the night. Robert Neville is the last living man on Earth. Every other man, woman, and child has become a vampire hungry for Neville's blood. By day he is the hunter, stalking the sleeping undead through the abandoned ruins of civilization. By night he barricades himself in his home and prays for the dawn. How long can one man survive in a world of vampires?
This recording also includes a sampling of other horror stories by Richard Matheson, some comic, all scary: "Buried Talents", "The Near Departed", "Prey", "Witch War", "Dance of the Dead", "Dress of White Silk", "Mad House", "The Funeral", "From Shadowed Places", and "Person to Person".

Classic
A book written so long ago and very much ahead of its time. Amazing character development and atmospheric tension throughout the entire book. One of the coolest stories to be told.

second voice actor for short stories ruins
the I am legend story is good and has a decent voice actor. I really enjoyed hearing the story for the first time after 'hearing' about it as a general reccomendation. definitely different from the movie in a good way and worth the listen. unfortunately as soon as it finished and it moves to the collected short stories the narrator actor changes.
Besides his voice being generally grating and nasal, he uses fake voices pitched cartoonishly. He picks up dialogue in intense moments and sounds like he's shouting moves on a baseball game or having an auction. nearly unbearable basically. someone give the guy a sportscasting job or at an auction house please.

Thought it would be longer
My mistake, didn’t see “and other stories” in the title.
Story is excellent, lots differences with the movie, but that’s a good thing!
Very interesting.
Really didn’t get into any of the other stories though.
