One of my favorites
Where does In the Hand of the Goddess rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
I've always loved the original Alanna series, so this has to be in my top ten (I listen to a lot of audiobooks).
Who was your favorite character and why?
Gary or George. They're both very laid-back, but in different ways.
What does Trini Alvarado bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
The accents. I love that Gary has a slightly British accent. It's so easy to imagine him that way.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
When Thom shows Alanna the secrets of her shield.
Any additional comments?
If you're considering this book, definitely give it a try. I thought it was even better than the first book.

I Still Love These Books
I remember stumbling upon Tamora Pierce’s books as a teenager, when my parents only allowed me to go to the public library alone. Her books allowed me an escape, if only in my mind. In this book, Alanna meets the Goddess that has touched her life, finds that she has two admirers, goes to war, struggles with her hate for Duke Roger, and gets discovered as a girl during a duel. I still find myself getting sucked into the fantasy of this book. I look forward to introducing the series to my own children when they get older.
