Although I found the story a little flat and predictable while reading, I can’t deny that Noah and AJ have really lingered in my mind. I’ve caught myself thinking about this book a lot since finishing it. The concept and atmosphere were incredibly strong, and the New York City theatre scene aesthetic completely pulled me in.

A part of me wanted the chronic illness aspect to be explored more directly, but I also found the subtlety of it interesting because the underlying presence of it was everywhere throughout the story. In that sense, the avoidance and fear surrounding it felt genuine and emotionally true. It still leaves a thoughtful, lingering impact.

Overall, the plot itself doesn’t offer many surprises, but the emotional focus on AJ and Noah’s connection was genuinely beautiful.
