Publisher's Summary

She wasn't supposed to be the princess I wasn't looking for.

When my father "died" five years ago, I took over the "family business". But when I say business, I really mean secret society. Or cult. Or militia. Hell, let's keep it simple and call it the mob.

It's just not that mob.

It's much darker, much dirtier, and much more dangerous than any old everyday mob.

And I was perfectly fine with my role in life for a long time. But now my brothers are involved, and I need to get them out.

Enter Megan Machette.

When I found her helpless, nearly naked, and chained to a wall on an island prison, I had no intention of being her Prince Charming. But then I found out she had a dirty, dark, dangerous secret that could solve all my family problems.

I was just going to use her. Play her. Tell her everything she wanted to hear.

I never planned on baring my secrets to her in a midnight confession, and I certainly never expected her to see past the dark filth inside my soul and find the man underneath.

But she did.

She wasn't supposed to be the princess I wasn't looking for.

But she is.

And now I will do anything - even use her evil secret to take down thousands of people - to save my brothers and get what I want.

Her.

Johnny features a prince saving his princess from a life of hell, one or 10 romantic gestures from a tattooed bad boy, swimming with glowing dolphins in the Bahamas, and secrets so deep everyone almost drowns. This is Book Three in the series and can be listened to alone, but should be listened to in order.

Includes a special bonus note from the author.

Interwoven characters

I truly enjoyed JA Huss layering Logan (JA Huss’ book In to her) into the Johnny story. This strengthens the imagery to create a whole world for the characters to reside.

spoiler alert

Although I did love this book, I found the ending to be a bit weak. I love the happy ending thing but it seemed to have come just wayyyyyy to easily. The book had a huge buildup and finally you think something big is going to happen, then it just ends very quickly and easily. I will be getting the next book though, not going to lie, I love this series.

Wow, Twists and Turns

Have really enjoyed this series so far. Lots going on. I have found that the stories start kind of slow in the beginning, but then the next thing I know I’m invested and can’t put it down. I think Johnny may be my favourite Bossy Brother, he’s so complex. My only complaint for this audio book was that Tad Branson’s voice did not match my vision of the rough, gruff, assholish, dominant persona of Johnny. He did a great job, his voice just wasn’t deep and commanding enough to be “scary” Johnny.

J.A. Huss does it again.

Great story about Johnny Boston and the company. didn't appreciate the performances as much this time, but the story always comes through.

Talented Author but... *SPOILER ALERT*

This author definitely has talent but from a 'mystery'buffs' point of view the book is problematic. The romantic aspects were well written. However, the mystery / suspense aspects of the story were lacking. There were 'holes' in the story events / the way the characters responded to the events. An example of a problematic part was when the heroine realized the hero knew she deceived him far beyond the point it should have already been blatantly obvious. ....and the heroine is portrayed as an intelligent character. This sort of situation makes a 'mystery buff' reader roll their eyes and sigh. In a way, parts of the mystery and suspense were 'dumbed down' too much and the story line lacked some logic in a few places. Also, the characters introspection rambled on needlessly beyond the necessary purpose of the introspection. The female narrator did a good job. However, the male narrator didn't accurately emote the personality of the hero (Johnny).

I really enjoyed book 1. I skipped book 2 (glad I did considering...); I was disappointed with book 3. At this point I'm not sure if I will listen to the next Jesse & Emma book and the other quirky romance with Alonzo or give it a miss. I'll have to think on this.
