Story
It all ends here. Every decision, battle, triumph, and heartache has led the galaxy to this moment. The Republic is spun wildly into sudden war as Gomarii slavers, in overwhelming numbers, strike on behalf of their Savage allies. The battle is fiercest on a newly rediscovered world: Earth. But galactic war is only the symptom of an older, deeper, and far more dangerous conflict. Now, Keel and Ravi must work frantically to assemble the warriors needed to withstand an ancient threat, and Prisma must wrestle to control her own inner darkness.

Story
We were fighting on the wrong side of a war we couldn't win. And that was the good news. The Ruhar hit us on Columbus Day. There we were, innocently drifting along the cosmos on our little blue marble, like the native Americans in 1492. Over the horizon come ships of a technologically advanced, aggressive culture, and BAM! There go the good old days, when humans only got killed by each other. So, Columbus Day. It fits. When the morning sky twinkled again, this time with Kristang starships jumping in to hammer the Ruhar, we thought we were saved.

They were the Savages. Raiders from our distant past. Elites who left Earth to create tailor-made utopias aboard the massive lighthuggers that crawled through the darkness between the stars. But the people they left behind on a dying planet didn't perish in the dystopian nightmare the Savages had themselves created: they thrived, discovering faster-than-light technology and using it to colonize the galaxy ahead of the Savages, forming fantastic new civilizations that surpassed the wildest dreams of Old Earth.

Great series, Total scam
Each book in the series has given us less for our money than each previous installment.
This books actual run time is about 60% of what is advertised, with what is essentially a basement quality podcast to fluff out the end.
The Q&A should not be considered paid content.
Regardless of the interesting storyline and badass characters in badass situations (all very well narrated by rc bray), each book is increasingly filled with non consequential side stories and subplots desperately trying to keep an ever growing cast of good characters relevant.
None of this can be accomplished well, when the authors refuse to actually put out a full length book.
I used to look forward to these books a lot. Top 5 series for me for sure.
While other authors continue to put great value into their work, sometimes increasingly as a series goes on. These two have perfected the bait and switch with abrupt cliff hangers as the bait.
I hope this is seen by the authors. Get it together boys.

Great Story... Two parts to be a money grab...
Great book that is bringing many story arcs and characters together seemlesley.
While the book is amazing...it is only 7.5 hours long, the author interview and bloopers are 25% of the runtime. It feels like we are left at the end of a chapter and it feels like a money grab.

Waited 6 months... wtf
Let me preface this by saying I’m a huge fan of the series, that being said… what in the actual f*** I seriously waited half a year, 184 days to be exact, for this. What happened to 17+ hours of listening time like the original Galaxy’s Edge? I’m beyond disappointed that I’ve waited since May for a 10 hour audiobook that’s really around 8 when you factor out the ridiculous last 2 hours of filler with the author.
Here’s some numbers, I waited 1/2 a year for 4/5 a book that is also 1/2 of what Galaxy’s Edge used to be. Love the series but this is ridiculously disappointing. I never thought I’d ever 1 star this…

Runtime is 80% Story 20% Roundtable Discussion
It's absolutely ridiculous to have the runtime listed as over ten hours only to find out two hours of that is bloopers and a roundtable discussion that I didn't pay for. This is the second time I've been blindsided by this bulls**t and I have half a mind to return the book on principle alone. I really enjoy the series and RC Bray is flawless as ever but it is so infuriating to be enthralled by a story and see you've got less than 3 hours left as things are getting really crazy only to be suckerpunched by that stupid unasked for 20% runtime filler.

2 hours filler… seriously?
There is quite more useless filler content during the book, what is kind of expected for mass produced commodity books. But 1/5 of it is just filler, no story, just filler. The only reason I did not return it is because RC Bray was, as usual, great.

G.E is amazing as f*** but ....
okay so I've bought and listened or read every one of the galaxy edge series including prequels and off shots like the rex books and order of centurion series which have all been amazing. this book was as well and fills in more gaps and background info which I love. unfortunately it seems like this series as well as many others in this genre of books seem to get shorter and shorter. this book ends with 2 hours of audio left for authors talking and crap. it's a bummer when a series is so amazing but the authors and or publishers are greedy jerks and take a series that should be maybe like 6 to 8 books and turn it into 20 just to make more money which is fine to a point. Im not sure if I will continue to buy extra credits for books of this series. I'd still use my monthly credit I get through my audible subscription only because I do really love these books. and I'm happy to support these guys but again, dudes.... maybe think about your fans who have made you successful and wealthy. it would be awesome to see a 16 hour audio book instead of these 5-8 hour shorts. I've literally spent about $230 or more (not including the couple books that were free with subscription) and I'm starting to feel like I'm not getting my money's worth. still love you guys but help a brother out who supports you guys. thanks for the amazing story and fantastic universe you've created. much appreciated 🙏

8 Hour story, 2 hour commercial
The story was great, Bray was great, but they’ve started doing this half a book BS. The books in first half of this series were between 15-20 hours long. Now they’re 8-9 hours?! With two “extra” hours being what amounts to a commercial for extra content, excuses as to why the book is so short, and Bray literally reading names for 20 minutes?! They blame the book being short on RC Bray and his busy schedule. Strange that Bray has time to record other new 15+ hour audiobooks (like ExForce), but not theirs apparently. I call BS.

WTF
KTF provides a behind-the-scenes glimpse to what’s going on in the grand scheme of Galaxy’s Edge. There are multiple backstories, and despite numerous elementary grammatical mistakes, each story is good. Nevertheless, I felt annoyed and cheated when the book ended rather abruptly after only ~7 hours — The remainder is “bloopers’ and “an interview with the authors” (same interview as in previous books).
Galaxy’s Edge is one of my all-time favorite series, and I’d rather wait a little longer for Anspach and Cole to write a full-length episode than spend a credit on filler without the flour.
I definitely recommend KTF to fans of GE. But, forewarned is forearmed — Prepare yourself to be disappointed, it’s a brief story that ends abruptly.
Needless to say, RC is the man.

I tried
That’s two books in a row now of what just feels like filler and not a whole lot happening. Bray as always did a phenomenal job narrating. One more not the last 2 hours of this book is a pod cast from the authors, I for one am not a fan of looking as seeing I have a good amount of book left just to have it end, and listen to a crappy pod cast. Just include a link to it or something don’t tack it on to make the book seem 2 hours longer than it actually is.

2 hour circle jerk
Tell me again how paying full price for half book's is better. This series has turned into a money grab. They have turned into Star Wars. Maybe they can get a drag queen to narrate the next cash grab. If I wanted to listen to you brick all over your own face, I'd sign up for your monthly bs. There is zero reread value to this season. They watched how Disney ruined Star Wars and did the same thing writing meaningless books no one will care about in 10 years. Supposedly they read these reviews if so they either only read the 5 Star or read all the bad reviews and laugh at you while they cash your check.
