Listening to this as someone who has lived through abuse is a different experience. You don’t hear it as “a story.” You hear it as recognition. Not the same life, not the same details — but the same moments, the same confusion, the same quiet realizations that only make sense if you’ve been there.
This isn’t someone telling my story — it’s someone finally telling theirs honestly, and that’s why it lands so deeply. There’s no performance of pain here, no attempt to make it palatable. Just authenticity, courage, and truth.
I’m fully invested now — in the work, in the voice, and in the choice to tell it exactly as it was. This is real artwork, and it matters.
