Story
Kailyn Flowers was always calm, rational, and controlled - until she ended up sprawled all over Daxton Hughes, the former actor she totally crushed on as a teenager. Then she did the unthinkable: She became a mortifying fangirl in five seconds flat, which may or may not have included professing her undying love. And oddly, he didn't run away. In fact, their meet cute led to a friendship she never saw coming. Of course, she never saw his betrayal coming, either....

Story
Lilah isn't sure what hurt worse: the day Ethan left her to focus on his hockey career or the day he came back eight years later. He might think they can pick up just where they left off, but she's no longer that same girl and never wants to be again. Ethan wants his glory days back. And that includes having Lilah by his side. With her, he was magic. They were magic. All he has to do is make her see that. Just when Lilah might finally be ready to let Ethan in, though, she finds out their reunion might have nothing to do with love and everything to do with improving his game.

Can you fall in love like they do in the movies? It's Evie Summers' job to find out. Because if she can't convince her film agency's biggest client, Ezra Chester, to write the romantic-comedy screenplay he owes producers, her career will be over. The catch? He thinks rom-coms are unrealistic - and he'll only put pen to paper if Evie shows him that it's possible to meet a man in real life the way it happens on the big screen. Cynical Evie might not believe in happily ever after, but she'll do what it takes to save the job that's been her lifeline.

Minnie Cooper knows two things with certainty: that her New Year's birthday is unlucky, and that it's all because of Quinn Hamilton, a man she's never met. Their mothers gave birth to them at the same hospital just after midnight on New Year's Day, but Quinn was given the cash prize for being the first baby born in London in 1990 - and the name Minnie was meant to have, as well. With luck like that, it's no wonder each of her birthdays has been more of a disaster than the one before.

And 24-year-old Millie refuses to let that happen to her - again. Especially now that she's responsible for raising her brothers and sister. A life of celibacy is her best defense - at least until the kids are grown and can take care of themselves. And, really, what's 10 years with no sex? No men. No sex. No love. It's a fool-proof plan. Until she meets Luc Valencia.

If people have polar opposites, Luca Rossi is mine. His butt is in the baseball hall of fame. Mine's comfortably seated in the hall of lame. When he's not snagging fly balls out in center field, he's modeling in shampoo commercials. I once jammed my own finger while stirring cookie dough, and sometimes I forget shampoo is a thing. He's a total cynic when it comes to love. I make a living writing love stories. But after my latest broken engagement (no, I don't want to talk about how many times that's happened), it's clear he's exactly the man I need.

Which is why the homes she designs for her family's real estate business are the most coveted in town. The only thing not perfect? Her track record with men. Publisher's Summary
As two neighborhood shop owners battle for business, they prove opposites attract in this "deliciously sweet and savory new romantic comedy" (Abby Jimenez, USA Today best-selling author).
Blaire Calloway has planned every Instagram-worthy moment of her cupcake and cocktails shop launch down to the tiniest detail. What she didn't plan on? Ronan Knight and his old-school sports bar next door opening on the very same day. He may be super swoony, but Blaire hasn't spent years obsessing over buttercream and bourbon to have him ruin her chance at success.
From axe throwing (his place) to frosting contests (hers), Blaire and Ronan are constantly trying to one-up each other in a battle to win new customers. But with every clash, there's also an undeniable chemistry. When an even bigger threat to their business comes to town, they're forced to call a temporary time-out on their own war and work together. And the more time Blaire spends getting to know the real Ronan, the more she wonders if it's possible to have her cupcake and eat it too.
"Kiss My Cupcake is a laugh-out-loud romance full of charm, wit and magic. Ronan and Blaire will have you fall in love with their story from their very first encounter. A thoroughly delicious read." (LJ Shen, USA Today best-selling author)
"With a sweet, sassy heroine and a deliciously sexy hero, Kiss My Cupcake is romantic comedy perfection!" (Melanie Harlow, USA Today best-selling author)
What the critics say
"An absolute delight from start to finish, this delicious enemies-to-lovers romance sees an independent and driven heroine and an equally ambitious hero take a journey to love that is unpredictable and filled with hilarity, a dash of sweetness, and a touch of steam."
—Library Journal, starred review
"A feel-good, humorous, easy, and will-make-you-swoon rom-com...an absolute fantastic ride of a story."—The Nerd Daily

Pleasantly surprised
I was quite surprised by how much I enjoyed this story. It was interesting to have the switch off between the 2 points of view, although I think the balance was a little off considering how little of the male POV we had versus the female lead. A sweet story and a satisfying ending. Laughed, blushed, and cried.

Fantastic story- but the male narrator :/
So this story is adorable- feel good in the way the best romance novels are. However , the male narrator is so awful that I literally just stopped in the first love scene between the main characters to write this review because he is completely ruining the story for me. I honestly plan on buying the broom because this story is so sweet ... but if you easily annoyed but certain narrators sample first.

Delicious in every way.....
This book has so many things to like about it. Helena Hunting always has a way of making you fall in love with her characters. Loved the way this couple started off and the love hate relationship they had going on. How they came together and became a support for each other. The Narrating was fantastic but just be aware Teddy isn’t in it as much I would’ve expected. However, Holly did an amazing job! Loved it!

This cupcake was too vanilla
This author’s books are all over the place for me. Her hockey romances are more explicit, mouthier and can be funnier (hello, A Favor for a Favor or Pucked Off) but also feature a lot of casual sex, drinking, and contrived social media angst with hockey pros that can really drag the book down (hello, Pucked and A Lie for a Lie). So, with this book dropping all the twenty something foolishness and giving us two thirty something, responsible business owners, I was hoping the author dropped the bad and kept the good ingredients and cooked up a fun enemies to lovers rom-com. Unfortunately, this book ended up being a rather generic, vanilla story. Not bad, but just okay.
My biggest gripe was the cuteness factor:
Blaire is cuteness overdone: a blond Betty with a love of cupcakes, Harry Potter, and 60’s era poodle skirts. She speaks in baby talk, like when she says “I worked my tooshie off to get here” or realizes she’s stepped in “doggy-doo.” The book opens revealing her “struggle” is choosing to decline her uber rich family wealth to pursue her small business dream. Ronan is a sexy hipster lumberjack, with plaid shirts and his own syrupy backstory of dead parents and a Scottish grandpa looking to him to save the family pub. Thankfully, Ronan throws (occasional) F bombs instead of baby bombs. But, he also contributes to the cuteness, complicit in karaoke duets and Harry Potter fandom.
Other issues:
It’s not a good sign when the most interesting folks are the side characters, from grandpa to Blaire’s bonkers family. The conflicts are mild and rather juvenile. The humor quirked my lips, but never got me to laugh. I think part of the vanilla was the female narrator, who could have used more snark (ala Erin Mallon or Lorelei King) to sell the banter. Hamilton’s narration brought the heat, but he only narrated every fifth chapter or so. There’s only one detailed nooky scene at 6.5hrs (which I did enjoy, since both Blaire and Ronan gave mouthy, sexy good times); the rest are vaguely referenced or stop at kisses, making this story a too sweet, too slow burn.
For livelier rom-com, I recommend:
💥Take a Hint by Hibbert, for a mouthy, yet sweet, and effortlessly woke, contemporary British rom-com
💥Man Hands by author duo Eby/Bowen for salt, tequila, lime hilarity if you can handle tons of F bombs
💥Loud Mouth by Avery Flynn, for a piss-N-vinegar hockey rom-com done right
💥Good Time by Jana Astin, for an exuberant, funny, but extremely naughty rom-com

Needed more Teddy Hamilton
Female narrator comprised 70% of the book and she was not very expressive or good IMO. Her Scottish accent was not good. The Ronan character was soooo adorable and the book would have been much better if he had narrated more.

I enjoyed this book, it dragged a bit in the middle and end, but overall I think this is worth a listen, maybe not a credit. I also expected more of Teddy Hamilton's narration and not as steamy as some of Teddy's other work. But I can appreciate the characters for how their written.

Ugh
So much of this I did not like. Since graduating from middle school, I haven’t found ridiculous sexual innuendo funny. Subtlety is so much sexier.
Also, the man who voiced Ronan was not my favorite. I live in the Pacific Northwest and have never heard an accent like that, it was almost like Johnny Depp’s Willy Wonka...super annoying. The leads lacked chemistry, I didn’t even care if they got together.

What a sweet story (pun intended!)! I loved Teddy and Holly bringing Ronan and Blaire to life! Their chemistry and hijinks come to life and I absolutely love it! In this time of stress and difficulty, it was so nice to listen to a story that was lovely.

Sweet story but needed more Teddy
The story was nice and sweet but the narration definitely was not even. Teddy Hamilton's narration is only about 30 to 40% of the story. The sexual tension would have definately been more intense if more of the male part was spoken by Hamilton especially in the beginning.

4 stars!!!!!!!
I wasn't sure about this one, even through the first handful of chapters. I did start to warm up to it as it continued. By the end, I was all in story-wise. It was a pretty cute, sweet and heartwarming story. There were definitely some oddball characters that helped add to the story as well. All in all, I was happy with this one.
One complaint though. I guess when romances are dual narrated, I have a certain expectation that the book will more or less make this an even thing. Meaning that the narration will switch on & off between characters. That wasn't the case here. I supposed I should also admit that I'm a little biased since when it's a book that involves Teddy narrating, then I want to hear more of him narrating! He only narrated maybe 20% of this book.
