Number One Book in the Entire Amazon Store

Number one Amazon Charts and Wall Street Journal best-selling author Ilsa Madden-Mills delivers an all-new emotional and twisty enemies-to-lovers romance that blurs the lines between revenge and love....

River Tate is a god on campus.
The king of football.
A tattooed bad boy with gunmetal eyes that see right through you.
The only chink in his armor is HER, the girl he pretends doesn't exist, the forbidden one with the shy smile and lavender hair.

Anastasia Bailey is a nobody.
The queen of nothing.
An outsider with the face of an angel and a body made for sin.
The only chink in her armor is HIM, her boyfriend's frat brother, the football player who hates her.

But when Anastasia's life comes crashing down, River's the one who sweeps in and saves her.
Torn between loyalty, lies, and secrets, he battles the temptation to take everything from her when they make their revenge pact.

He can't tell her no.
Because revenge (or love) is sweet, and once you get a taste, the craving never ends.
The Revenge Pact is an angsty college sports romance with a beautiful HEA. No cliffhanger. Other interconnected standalone books in this series: The Romantic Pact by Meghan Quinn; The Relationship Pact by Adriana Locke.

Very Cute YA listen

This will be an atypical opinion for Ilsa Madden-Mills from me.. I usually throughly enjoy her work, and while this listen was good, it is not her best effort. This story involves two young people who were attracted to each other, but ultimately did not date. A year later, things begin to change in their lives and its a loooonnnngggg path for them to find each other. This story was nice, but it is not one I would listen to again. The unrequited love pushed my patience. The performance was stellar and probably saved the listen. Overall I would not recommend a credit, but wait for a sale or the PLUS catalog.

The Revenge Pact

The Revenge Pact is the first book in the Kings of Football series. This book is told from dual points of view from River and Anastasia (Ana).

When this book starts out Ana is in a relationship with one of River's roommates. They don't really like each other, and try to stay away from each other, however deep down River has always had feelings for Ana, but her boyfriend claimed her first.

River has some learning problems, and is struggling in a class they have together and Ana ends up tutoring him. Ana's boyfriend learns stuff about her past and comes out with it very publicly and embarrasses her. River is there for her in her time of need.

Ana decided she needs a rebound from her boyfriend, and asks River to help her. Their feelings grow, the more they spend together. Can they find her a rebound? How does River take it when she wants someone else, when he's had feelings for her? What happens when her boyfriend wants her back?

I enjoyed this story, and can't wait to see what happens next in the series.

Slooooow Burn, but worth it

The dialogue in this book is what made this book worth a credit. Yes, during first 30% the two love interests weren’t together & it did drag on too long but still good story. Good not great, but filled the time: I think a little more about River & Ana

Dream a little dream 🦄🌈

There’s only one person in the world who makes the hair on my nape rise. Him. And by him, I mean that egotistical bad boy who thinks he’s God’s gift. River Tate—AKA Perfect Guy from the night I met Donovan.—River & Anastasia are fated to be together it just takes them a while to get on the same page;)

Life is just one breath away from death. Every single MFing second counts.—I absolutely love this line!! No truer words or advice can be given!!

River is a genuinely great guy. He believes in honesty, family & loyalty. But his loyalty could cost him his fate. Luckily for him Donavan is a dumba$$ and does not believe in the same things that River does. My heart soared for River & Anastasia when they finally admit their feelings for each other❤️

Gah! The epilogue is everything on so many levels! River’s mom’s diagnosis & his NFL team are perfect. His dad was certainly with him:)

“Life is tough, Mr. Tate. You’ll figure it out once college is over.” Oh, man, he went there. “Agreed, life is rarely fair.” I nod as I stick my hands into my pockets. “But the next time you know a kid has issues in your class, maybe try some understanding. I’m not talking about an athlete like me. They might be a regular person, the kind who’s talented in other ways, but if someone asks them to read, their throat closes up. This class was a mountain to me, Dr. Whitman. I climbed it. Fair and square.”
**as a mom of a son with reading comprehension issues this quote is everything!

Just okay...

2.5 stars ⭐️⭐️½

All I can say is The Revenge Pact was just okay. I’ve read better by Ilsa Madden-Mills. However it was a cute read and had some swooning moments.

This was basically insta-love book. Yes, it does say enemies-to-lovers Romance, but that was very short lived. I really didn’t get that vibe from either characters that they disliked each other. It was more of bickering back-and-forth.

River has been in love with Ana aka Anastasia since day one when he helped his friend Donovan hook up with her. Of course Ana is clueless to this and thinks he hates her, but River can’t do anything about it because he’s the President of his fraternity and Donovan is one of his Frat Brothers.
Most of the book is River pining over Anastasia (which is a change for once) and him denying what he feels for Anastasia because he can’t cross that line...Blah blah blah…

So I’ll finish with this ~ As River would say… “give me three things”

3 things I liked…

1. The FMC could hold her own. ( that is always a plus in my opinion)
2. The story was cute, funny and emotional. (I like a book with a variety of Emotions)
3. Not much OW drama (which is always a good thing)

3 things I disliked…

1. Insta-love (just find them gagging and unrealistic)
2. Main characters didn’t really have great chemistry (I didn’t connect with them)
3. Story dragged on, but also was rushed at the same time. If that makes sense? (Miss Ilsa just didn’t give me enough details in some parts, but then gave to much in other parts that I feel was irrelevant)

Audiobook review: CJ Bloom is one of my Favorite narrators. She always brings the story to Life. Even though I’ve only listened to Lee Samuels a handful of times his voice is nice to listen too. Therefore I give them both 5 stars.
