LOVED

Easy to listen to! The Narrator is one I didn’t have any problems getting sucked into the story! If you loved Celaena Sardothien this book might be for you. I can’t wait to start the second.

Really enjoyed

Similar to SJM and JLA, but less spicy.
I was very surprised at how much I enjoyed the book! Disappointed the next book isn’t available on audible yet!

OBSESSED

Ok. WOW. Tbh the first 3 hours of the audiobook was, laughable. Kind of annoying as the main female character felt childish and it took some time to get used to the narration. By chapter 10 I was into it and hooked.
I absolutely was/am obsessed with ACOTAR and TOG and this book was full of pieces/ ideas from those books, which is honestly BRILLIANT because, like I said…. (Obsessed).
The last 1/3 of this book had me totally hooked and the ending — I can’t get over how incredibly hooked I am and as I write this book 2 is downloading.
Truly brilliant. I never write reviews although I depend on them a lot when picking a new series.
This one is right up there and I can see how this book has set up a lot of intrigue and development for the next books.
I can’t recommend this enough.

Fantastic!

I was hesitant to pick up this book, because young/new adult themes aren't my jam. I took a gamble, and am so glad I did!

I listened to the audio version and loved the narrator's performance. She was able to portray the cast of characters well, in addition to imbuing events with emotion.

I enjoyed the rich characters, the plot (and sub-plots), world setting and all the in-between. The author mixed past and present storylines with finesse, captivating me with her storytelling. There were many surprises and twists, mystery, tension, tragedy, and more.

This book sets the stage for what I anticipate will be an epic fantasy series. I dove into book 2 immediately after reading this book.

The first 2 books are available on audible. The remaining books don't appear to have released in audio format yet.

Keeping my review free of story details, as you don't want to accidentally come across a spoiler. 4.5 Stars here!

Instantly obsessed with this storyline!

Wow, if you’re a fan of Throne of Glass or From Blood and Ash, you NEED to read this!!

Trigger warning ⚠️ - rape and violence.

I quickly became obsessed with the Lady of Darkness. Scarlet is such a damaged, guarded, and emotional MFC. She is anything but a lady, and as you learn about her experiences you mourn with her, cry with her, rage with her, and love with her.

The pace was somewhat slow but I felt that it was useful with what you were learning of Scarlet, her experiences and the other characters. I also really enjoyed the dual POV in the book, as I often wish I could know what was going on inside of the MMCs head.

This left you on the edge of your seat and I feel like there is so much more the readers are left wanting to know and learn, in a good way.

I also need to give a shout out to Laura Horowitz
because her narration of the audiobook was stellar and made me dive in even more!

I cannot wait to listen to the second book in the Lady of Darkness series!

Really enjoyed this

It sort of is filling the hole that TOG left. It is setting up for a larger world, and new characters so I hope the next book picks up on the action, and less dramatic long periods of talking in circles.
