Publisher's Summary

In this heart-warming romance from New York Times bestselling author Nora Roberts, can frontiersman Jake Redman capture the heart of a woman unaccustomed to the wild landscape he loves?

Half Apache and all man, Jake Redman was more than a match for the wild Arizona Territory. Sarah Conway, on the other hand, was an Eastern lady who belonged anywhere else but on the rugged land Jake loved. But beneath Sarah's ladylike demeanor beat the heart of a true pioneer, a woman he yearned to make his own.

Just romance

I enjoy her mysteries... This one is just a romance novel... Didn't get as engaged.

Just awesome!!!

This was an exciting book, full of action and surprises. There were just enough characters to be able to acquaint yourself with each one. The passion was so genuine I could sense every breath, and feel every movement during their passionate love encounters. If I weren’t sleeping alone (at age 83)I KNOW I and that lucky man, would be exhausted by morning. Those were my favorite parts.

Most Intriguing Book

This novel by Nora Roberts is the best one I have read so far. One is so wanting to know what happens next, that it is hard to put the book down. A must read for everyone!

I thought this was a good read.

Nora Roberts is a hit and miss for me. Most of her books are on the light side for my taste. This one kept my attention, and I give the credit to Mr. Todd Haberkorn, this is my first time listening to him and I will be looking for more books narrated by this man. The story was your regular western type romance.

My second Nora book and I'm not disappointed.

Yes I enjoyed this story. THis was my second Nora book. It had everything I wanted. It had that old west historical romance thing i wanted. I wish these books were easier to find in audio. The heroine was naive but not stupid. The narrator Todd Haberkorn had Jack sounding like CLint Eastwood. It was kinda humerous.

Simple but entertaining

Not a deep plot, but likable characters, great narration. I loved the kid, the ever-present dog, the heroes and the nice folk. It’s a feel-good story

Jake shouldn't sound like Clint Eastwood

This is one of my favorite books. I was thrilled to find it on Audibles, but disappointed in the performance.

Sarah sounds like a mature woman instead of a girl of 19 that she is supposed to be and the young boy sounds like an old man.

My biggest complaint and the one I found the most distracting was that the reader for Jake was doing a Clint Eastwood imitation. While I listened I couldn't get Eastwood out of my head. I believe this takes away from the story. Who a character is is between the author who writes him/her and the reader/listener who creates a picture of that person in their imagination.

Best of All!

We love this writer. This book is so different than most of Nora's books, that my wife and I questioned a western.
This is one of the best books we have listened to in years.

B-Movie Western + Romance

Predictable plot straight out of a 50’s western movie updated with a spunky, accomplished heroine and some spicy sex scenes. Plenty of tropes to please romance fans but not really my cup of tea. The narrator did a fairly decent job.

Not her best

I’m a huge Nora Roberts fan but I was shocked how much this storyline lacked. I don’t know if it’s because she’s not used to writing historical fiction or she just had an off book but this is my least favorite book of hers so far. The narrator was pretty good.
