You'll never see leadership the same way again after reading this book. These 15 commitments are a distillation of decades of work with CEOs and other leaders. They are radical or provocative for many. They have been game changers for us and for our clients. We trust they will be for you too. Our experience is that unconscious leadership is not sustainable. It won't work for you, your team, or your organization in the long term.

You don't need to do anything to acquire it; you only need to drop something. This audiobook shows you what that is. There is not a single person who ever gave time to being aware who’s quality of life didn't change. You see life differently because you are different. Publisher's Summary
This third edition of an international best-seller - more than two million copies sold worldwide and translated into 33 languages - details how its powerful insights on motivation, conflict, and collaboration can benefit organizations as well as individuals.
Since its original publication in 2000, Leadership and Self-Deception has become an international word-of-mouth phenomenon. Rather than tapering off, it sells more copies every year. The guide's central insight - that the key to leadership lies not in what we do, but in who we are - has proven to have powerful implications not only for organizational leadership but in listeners’ personal lives as well.
Leadership and Self-Deception uses an entertaining story everyone can relate to about a man facing challenges at work and at home to expose the fascinating ways we blind ourselves to our true motivations and unwittingly sabotage the effectiveness of our own efforts to achieve happiness and increase happiness. We trap ourselves in a “box” of endless self-justification.
Most importantly, the audiobook shows us the way out. Listeners will discover what millions already have learned - how to consistently tap into and act on their innate sense of what’s right, dramatically improving all of their relationships.
This third edition includes new research about the self-deception gap in organizations and the keys to closing this gap. The authors offer guidance for how to assess the in-the-box and out-of-the-box mind-sets in yourself and in your organization. It also includes a sample of Arbinger’s latest best-seller, The Outward Mindset.

One of the best books I’ve ever listened to
I didn’t know how much of a problem I had with my “Heart of War” until this book explained many of the problems in my life. I had felt sure these problems were caused by other people and had never really considered the damage I was doing - without even realizing it. What an eye opener in terms of the change I need to make in order to have peaceful relationships! If you want a happier, more peaceful life, I highly recommend listening and applying the concepts in The Anatomy of Peace.

Preachy book about being nice to people
People are people and we should treat them as such, failure to do so means you're "in the box". Being in the box is bad and it's your fault if you are in the box, but also your fault if other people are in the box. because they are in the box because you are in the box.
"one executive stated this book saved his life". an actual quote from this book.
