The Imperium fights for its very existence against a threat unlike any other in the galaxy, and a Tyranid invasion beyond any yet experienced.

THE STORY

'The dream...it is a portent...of the end.'

The fortress world of Regium has a proud history, For millennia, it has endured when others have fallen to ruin and damnation, standing defiant in defence of the Imperium of Man. But now it is shaken. Parasitic plagues run rampant, and Regium's citizens are haunted by dreams of horrific monsters feasting upon their flesh and marrow.

Lieutenant Castamon of the Ultramarines recognises these signs of an impending Tyranid invasion all too well. Rallying his warriors, the battle-hardened veteran launches a strike force to slaughter the xenos in the outer system, before it can reach Regium. But as this new tendril of Hive Fleet Leviathan proves unpredictable and deadly, Castamon and the First Company must harness all their skill, might, and zeal, or face utter annihilation.

Good story

I like the story but the VA didn’t have as much range so it was hard to tell when he switched characters

good story, weird voice acting.

The story is great. The voice actor isn't good and has little voice range for multiple voices

Well written, Terrible Narration

In this book, Darius Hinks brings us to Regium, and shows us the culture of the 1st Company of Ultramarines. He does a great job painting a picture and creating an enticing audiobook. Theo Solomon then does his best to ensure that I never buy an audiobook narrated by him again. His voices for scared people & women are about as grating as possible, and that's just the tip of the iceberg.

I didn’t love but I didn’t hate it

I found the VA to be good. He had decent range with his voices.
As for the story, it was okay. I never felt riveted.
To be nitpicky, the scale felt off.
It felt like the hive, the fortress and the Chen works were all that were important on the planet.

not the best

VA was hard to listen too and not nearly as good as other ones. The story felt like a grind to get through and the only reason I finished was because of my excitement of 10th.

inside the devourer

a really nice depiction of a tyranid invasion that sometimes wanders out of its path but ends up in a bleak finale

ummm

review pt 1 I'm only 3:30 minuits in as of now it seems there trying to add more depth or perhaps fleshing out a campaign book as a black library book not sure
on that would be my first issue so far.

as for the next issue narration, it's not horrible, but it's rather flat, and at other times dwarves eating gravel comes to mind. or like when you tell a dog to stay in a flat, loud voice devoid of emotion, tho for any itehtts fans think dorn no voice for certain space marines tho
eor comes to mind to . then u get into the nids have never did this before. fun fact they had they just lost that info coz u know, inquisition gonna inquisition right now we have its alien vs predator hybrid territory yippy and that's all in 3;30m mark stay tuned

Very boring and bad narrator.

Avoid. The story is very dull and the narrator doesn't do many different voices, so it can get confusing on who is speaking.
