Publisher's Summary

A brilliant and touching romantic comedy from the USA Today best-selling author of The Friend Zone and The Happy Ever After Playlist.

When Vanessa Price quit her job to pursue her dream of traveling the globe, she wasn't expecting to gain millions of YouTube followers who shared her joy of seizing every moment. For her, living each day to its fullest isn't just a motto. Her mother and sister never saw the age of 30, and Vanessa doesn't want to take anything for granted.

But after her half sister suddenly leaves Vanessa in custody of her baby daughter, life goes from "daily adventure" to "next-level bad" (now with bonus baby vomit in hair). The last person Vanessa expects to show up offering help is the hot lawyer next door, Adrian Copeland. After all, she barely knows him. No one warned her that he was the Secret Baby Tamer or that she'd be spending a whole lot of time with him and his geriatric Chihuahua.

Now she's feeling things she's vowed not to feel. Because the only thing worse than falling for Adrian is finding a little hope for a future she may never see.

Heart Wrenching

OMG.
So many emotions I had listening to this story.
I smiled, laughed, was very angry, I was in awe.

Through out this story I was so against Vanessa’s life choices, the ones regarding her family, her love, and her personal life.

As for the ending there was no other way to finish this love story.

Now that I have listened to it fully and calmed my emotions Vanessa’s desire to live her life that way made the most sense.
How do you react when your time is limited. I hope to never know that personally.

Zachary Webber was amazing as always. Christine Lakin is new to me an I thought she did a fine job.

So worth getting.
****Note: When you are listening to this story my advice is to grab your box if tissues. You will need them.

Give me a break

Has Harlequin romance written all over it!! I don’t know why I kept on listening to this fairytale romance??? I suppose I was waiting for something believable to happen.
The parts about raising money for ALS research was authentic but that’s the only real thing about this story.
The narrator was good & easy to listen to.

Moving series with relatable characters and situations

I’ve journeyed through the three books in this series and thoroughly enjoyed every book. Highly recommend reading the series in order. This isn’t cookie cutter romance stories but heartwarming tales that will leave you longing for more.

Loved this Story

Abby is a talented author. This story was so well written that I ended up experiencing a plethora of emotions. The humour had me laughing so hard at times. This book faced real challenges and advocated counselling, talked about the discrimination of accessibility and what can be done. I am hooked on this author as I have read three of her books now and cannot wait for the next one. I really liked how the character handled the unknown of having a genetic familia illness. I strongly recommend this awesome read.

Beautiful Story

This was such a beautiful story about love and courage - I was so touched by it. The narrators were both amazing and really capture the spirit of both the heroine and the hero ❤️💙

This book was very sad!

I wish this came with a warning, but my preference is to listen to romance books that take me away from life's heartaches. I don't want to read romance about terminal illness, death, addiction, etc. I really liked Abby's other books, but this one was a bit too heavy for me. I will be returning. :(

Good good what is this crap?

I bought this due to all of the glowing reviews. Did we all read the same book?? The two main characters are supposed to be smart and witty but both of them have their heads up their asses the entire time. The writing is atrocious; if you took a shot for every time a character “scoffs” or “raises an eyebrow,” you’d be drunk five minutes into the story. Halfway through the book I was wishing for all the characters to die.

Live for Today

Live for today - that's the ongoing theme that comes across in this story. I went into this book with the understanding that I would probably laugh a bit and cry a lot. It didn't disappoint. Vanessa and Adrian compliment each other perfectly from them moment they meet.

I loved the themes in this story and found it surprisingly uplifting. The dark periods and heavy content was much lighter than I had expected based on the previous two novels, especially TFZ (though to be honest that could be due to the personal connection I felt with the characters and storyline of that book). I also expected more heat than we got in this one. It was still a sweet romance with a nice wrap up, however I would have liked to see a little more sexy time details and a little less of the curtain closed post coital wrap up 😘 I really appreciated the cameos from some well loved characters!

I truly enjoyed the narration in this. Christine Lakin is a new narrator to me but I'm familiar with her acting work/voice. She has a pleasing pace and a good register for both her female and male characters. Zachary Webber also did a great job as usual (but as a 1 click narrator for me that's to be expected). I particularly liked how he delivered the BuzzFeed-esk chapter titles! Also, as expected, he was the one who made me ugly cry 😭 He's so good at bringing on ALL the feels, but especially pain and despair!

Overall I was happy I picked this up. Between the story and the audio performances it's worth the credit. Definitely could be a standalone but I highly recommend reading the first 2 because they are so worth it!

Good Lesson in this one

I went into this one not knowing what to really expect, I listened to the sample and knew I was on board with the narration. This story line although it has humor, it also has a lesson for us all. Live for today, life really is just too short. If we are so worried about the future and what might happen we miss out on so much of what life offers us each day. I also felt a connection to the story line because I had a cousin/sister that also had ALS and passed shortly after finally being diagnosed with it. Abby did great research in finding out just how they go about diagnosing ALS, reading this story I felt like I was reliving what my cousin went through. There are other debilitating "illnesses" that have affected Vanessa's family and even Adrian.

Adrian and Vanessa develop a great friendship, he is a lawyer "workaholic" and she is a travel blogger living each day as best and to the fullest while also helping her family and taking care of her sisters baby. They help each other discover so much about themselves.

This was just a great unexpected story.

Has good moments but too long

I really enjoyed the beginning of this book, it was funny with moments of sadness with the main characters fear of a terminal disease. It got really long in the middle for me with the angst of the two main characters. They don’t communicate well and it’s almost madding. The I love him/her but he/she doesn’t love me goes on WAY too long. I also found the different “moods” of the book a bit annoying. The beginning is funny with lots of silly things and then the last half is all dread and angst. It felt odd, like it should have kept a mood throughout. The narrators do a good job so that kept me going. I know a lot of people really loved this book, for me it was hard to get through, it could have been a lot shorter and made a better impact.

So good!

I rarely give 5 stars but I would give it 6 or 7 if I could. I loved how you can feel for both characters and the storyline flowed really well. After listening to two sub par books (one I didn’t finish) this was a breath of fresh air and something I really needed. Christine is new to me as a narrator but I really like her! Zachary can do now wrong.
