Publisher's Summary

A brilliant and touching romantic comedy from the USA Today best-selling author of The Friend Zone and The Happy Ever After Playlist.

When Vanessa Price quit her job to pursue her dream of traveling the globe, she wasn't expecting to gain millions of YouTube followers who shared her joy of seizing every moment. For her, living each day to its fullest isn't just a motto. Her mother and sister never saw the age of 30, and Vanessa doesn't want to take anything for granted.

But after her half sister suddenly leaves Vanessa in custody of her baby daughter, life goes from "daily adventure" to "next-level bad" (now with bonus baby vomit in hair). The last person Vanessa expects to show up offering help is the hot lawyer next door, Adrian Copeland. After all, she barely knows him. No one warned her that he was the Secret Baby Tamer or that she'd be spending a whole lot of time with him and his geriatric Chihuahua.

Now she's feeling things she's vowed not to feel. Because the only thing worse than falling for Adrian is finding a little hope for a future she may never see.

Live for Today

Live for today - that's the ongoing theme that comes across in this story. I went into this book with the understanding that I would probably laugh a bit and cry a lot. It didn't disappoint. Vanessa and Adrian compliment each other perfectly from them moment they meet.

I loved the themes in this story and found it surprisingly uplifting. The dark periods and heavy content was much lighter than I had expected based on the previous two novels, especially TFZ (though to be honest that could be due to the personal connection I felt with the characters and storyline of that book). I also expected more heat than we got in this one. It was still a sweet romance with a nice wrap up, however I would have liked to see a little more sexy time details and a little less of the curtain closed post coital wrap up 😘 I really appreciated the cameos from some well loved characters!

I truly enjoyed the narration in this. Christine Lakin is a new narrator to me but I'm familiar with her acting work/voice. She has a pleasing pace and a good register for both her female and male characters. Zachary Webber also did a great job as usual (but as a 1 click narrator for me that's to be expected). I particularly liked how he delivered the BuzzFeed-esk chapter titles! Also, as expected, he was the one who made me ugly cry 😭 He's so good at bringing on ALL the feels, but especially pain and despair!

Overall I was happy I picked this up. Between the story and the audio performances it's worth the credit. Definitely could be a standalone but I highly recommend reading the first 2 because they are so worth it!

So good!

I rarely give 5 stars but I would give it 6 or 7 if I could. I loved how you can feel for both characters and the storyline flowed really well. After listening to two sub par books (one I didn’t finish) this was a breath of fresh air and something I really needed. Christine is new to me as a narrator but I really like her! Zachary can do now wrong.

Another great one from Abby Jimenez

I have had this book on my wish list for sometime and finally purchased and listened to it in the same day. Wonderful story and performance. It will be one I listen to again and again.

This was by far the best in the series! I have loved all three and cried at all three. I feel lost when each book ends. Highly recommend!

Wow, this one destroyed me

Really enjoyed the story and how it unfolded. The book ended up unfolding different to what I expected going in - it had me in absolute tears, but I loved it and can’t wait to listen again.

All the stars in the galaxy!!!! Wow!!!!

Abby Jimenez has completely and utterly slayed and exceeded all of my expectations with Life's Too Short!!! If I thought I loved her 2 previous audios, this one is as good, or better. Zachary Webber and Christine Lakin narrated the hell out of this gem and I can honestly say it's my favorite audio of 2021 so far. A complete WOW of a story! So well developed, characters that feel real, the chemistry development and the stakes at a constant high. The emotions and the narration took it over the top! I can't recommend it enough!!! Bravo!

She does it again

What an inspiring, funny, sweet, deeply moving novel. I’ve come to expect an outstanding story from Ms. Jimenez but she’s gone above and beyond in this one. A++ narration as well.

Abby Jimenez does it again.

Just wow. Abby jimenez’s 3rd book in The Friend Zone series is another 5 star read. She is becoming one of my favorites. The worst part of reading her books is waiting for the next one to be released.
