A thoroughly fascinating — albeit troubling — story. Very well narrated. Patrick Radden Keefe, in his telling of one family’s tragedy, exposes a frightening and largely untouchable subset of London’s criminal class.

Extremely well researched, written, and produced. This work delves deeply into the past while holding a mirror to the present with unsettling clarity. Some of the details are so disturbing and vividly portrayed that they linger long after the final page or scene : haunting, unforgettable, and at times nightmare-inducing. A powerful and sobering experience. The French pronunciation of some words was a bit below par, but then again for an anglophone...
