Publisher's Summary

After the apocalypse, the world’s most valuable resource is the people that remain. And the knowledge and skills they possess.

On the island of Big Tancook, Collie Jones is making plans. She informs the islanders that it’s time to resume her original mission - to find other survivors, screen them, and return them to the island. Every survivor she brings back is one more valuable addition to the skill and gene pool.

But first, she must return to the place whence she came.

She must secure the elaborate government bunker called Whitecap and its vast stores of munitions within.

With a small group accompanying her - including Gus Berry, the Mountain Man - the islanders will once again return to the mainland and confront a new enemy.

An enemy who has the very same goal of locating survivors, but for a different purpose.

To build an empire.

Contains coarse language and violence.

Amazing as always

Huge fan of the series. Blackmore delivers another gem. Albeit, shorter it seemed, but great nonetheless. Another amazing performance by R.C Bray as well. Eagerly await another instalment! Keep up the good work!

Happy fun times at Festival of Zombies continues

He keeps stepping into hoards of zombies the way you or I might step into a steaming pile of cow 💩 shit, while visiting Old Charlie Browns slaughter house.

Great Series

This story was a bit short but still excellent. This is the first zombie apocalypse series I've every read. It's not really my thing. Having said that, I love the series and the characters. R.C. Bray does a great job with the voices.

A worthy Sequel. Incredibly Fun

In a world fighting coronavirus, novels about dystopian futures are particularly engrossing. Blackmore's vision of a post-apocalyptic Canada is somewhat disturbing. The 'Road Warrior' meets 'Walking Dead' approach, as cartoonishly ridiculous as it is, actually made me take pause and think.
Obvious fiction, but some real-life people are acting almost like bands of roving sociopaths could actually happen. Regardless, this book is a blast.
Blackmore's descriptions are vivid and humorous. His pacing is break-neck. His chief characters are engrossing. Unfortunately, most of his peripheral figures are pretty shallow.
I would love to know Bruno or Corey's backgrounds. What is Monica's deal? Coming in the next book, I guess.

R.C. Bray is, well, R.C. Bray...best narrator in the Business.

This continuation of the "Mountain Man" series is fantastic, and could be read stand-alone, though it's set up for an obvious sequel. Bring it on.

Another great story about Gus.

Really enjoyed this story. I like where Blackmore is taking it as long as there are going to be more. And making Canuckistan a nuclear power, breathtaking!
Of course, RC was amazing. Makes all the books he reads that much better.

Oh my :))

Absolutely solid and perfectly performed. Unique scenario's, dramatic, edge of your seat thrilling, and sad in some places. Looking forward to book 6 "I hope"?

Gus gets Woke

Is this Mountain Man aka Gus or Mountain Woman Collie???? Just like the zombie apocalypse, Wokeness has taken over all media. Gus is just along for the ride while the sassy Collie is always smarter, stronger and tougher than our main character. Give Collie her own series and give us back the old Gus!!!

Disappointing

This started as a good series but now is just a disappointment. The hereo is second fiddle now. An the crazy plot holes They start from the get go from shooting the guys with the slaves. Only they didn't know they had slaves or anything about them. So we are left with the idea our heroes were killing people for kicks. Crossbows that reach people using snipper rifles and on and on.

FAN-FRACKING-TASTIC!!!!

Blackmore just opened up a whole new can of whoopass, expanded the Mountain man universe with this incredible story. RC Bray bright back old friends, and introduced us to New ones, and of course new ball-breaking bad guys, peppered with monsters. this series is my favorite in the genre, and podium audio is a top notch outfit, never disappoints me. Kieth is a genius at stringing words together and Bob brings it all to life, I can't recommend this series enough. at the end of this story, Bray asks the reader to visit them in social media, so come join the fan group 50 shades of Bray on Facebook, a group of fans who Geek out on all of these great stories in the Bray universe!!

Emotional walking dead

Going sound sexist but in a apocalyptic book where the book is based on zombies, manuel labor and shooting the men can't be punks while the female is the alpha. There no place for those type of men this is Sparta! Or wondering if a women likes you lol

best yet <br />

Blackmore's best writing yet. When you combine this with R.C. Bray's narration you get an instant classic. Most series get watered down over time but the mountain man series continue to just get better. Highly recommend this series.

A struggle - so far

The series has been really good so far, but for some reason this one is really hard to get into. I honestly feel - 4 hours into the book - the series could have ended with the last book. I’ll update the review when I can get to the end of the book...sorry.

One of my favorite storylines.

Not your normal zombie faire. It is a good storyline with some serious twists and turns.
