This is my fave of the trilogy. Holden is MY GUY! I love him so so so much. His constant battles with chronic pain, masking his needs and playing the class clown to really put up a front to keep the real emotions at bay and never feel too vulnerable or needy about his situation… hahah WOW sir, you are MOST relatable. ANYWAY, GET THIS MAN A BOYFRIEND! and guess what? he doooooes. And it’s superb. Also SP1CY AF!

Okay okay so the book opens with some murder mystery updating and Holden being an a-hole driver nearly running a crappy old RV off the road to get to the search site at the lake and when he gets there, he finds out the ex SEAL diver they’ve negotiated to help them check the lake for clues was the guy driving the RV! jahaha AWKWARD!

Anywho, the SEAL guy is super hot 🥵 and crabby, goes by Cal and Holden hates him… but wants to work with him even though Cal would rather actually push him into the lake.

But situations work against them even after Cal gets some evidence, and he’s injured in the lake. Holden, ever the doting man, takes him to the hospital and takes care of him.

Things progress, and Cal can’t do any diving with his injury, and then as he tries to leave town his RV dies on him. He’s SOL and Holden finds him at the local shop and offers him a roommate situation at his place until he’s healthy and can get back on his feet.

Cal is hesitant but agrees. Things are tickety boo as roommates until Cal is caught doing auto erôtic bǒndäge and Holden is super worried (and turned on!) and then cal is inviting him to watch him the next time he plays?

Then they’re suddenly more than roomies?

Cal sees right through holden’s humour and loves when he takes charge in the bedroom. Cal is the sübby partner that Holden has always wanted. And they’re sharing fantasies and trying new things! And it’s seggsy AF!

There’s more feelings and dating, and mǔrder plôt reveal stuff and Cal playing the hero and honestly this book has it all!!!!!
