À propos de cet audio

Now available in print for the first time with author's notes on each story, this short fiction addition to the Hugo Award-winning Expanse series includes a brand-new novella set after the events of Leviathan Falls.

On Mars, a scientist experiments with a new engine that will one day become the drive that fuels humanity's journey into the stars.

On an asteroid station, a group of prisoners are oblivious to the catastrophe that awaits them.

On a future Earth beset by overpopulation, pollution, and poverty, a crime boss desperately seeks to find a way off planet.

On an alien world, a human family struggles to establish a colony and make a new home.

All these stories and more are featured in this unmissable collection of short fiction set in the hardscrabble world of The Expanse.

Ce que les critiques en disent

"Corey deftly weaves multiple points of view to create a dense and colorful tapestry of political intrigue, personal relationships, and sophisticated technology that bursts with action but also delivers an introspective view of the characters as they age and reflect on their purpose and the value of their lives."—Booklist (starred review) on Tiamat's Wrath
"A standout tale of violence, intrigue, ambition, and hope. ... Corey cranks up the tension relentlessly in this fast-paced story of heroes and rebels fighting for freedom. With enough thrills and intrigue for three Hollywood blockbusters, the novel stands alone nicely, making it easy for new readers as well as diehard series fans to dive right in."
Publishers Weekly on Nemesis Games
"The science fictional equivalent of A Song of Ice and Fire...only with fewer beheadings and way more spaceships."
NPR Books on Cibola Burn
"Combining an exploration of real human frailties with big SF ideas and exciting thriller action, Corey cements the series as must-read space opera."
Library Journal (starred review) on Cibola Burn
"The Expanse series is the best space opera series running at full tilt right now, and Cibola Burn continues that streak of excellence."
io9 on Cibola Burn
"Corey's splendid fourth Expanse novel blends adventure with uncommon decency."
Publishers Weekly (starred review) on Cibola Burn
"A politically complex and pulse-pounding page-turner.... Corey perfectly balances character development with action... series fans will find this installment the best yet."
Publishers Weekly on Abaddon's Gate
"It's been too long since we've had a really kickass space opera. Leviathan Wakes is interplanetary adventure the way it ought to be written, the kind of SF that made me fall in love with the genre way back when, seasoned with a dollop of horror and a dash of noir. Jimmy Corey writes with the energy of a brash newcomer and the polish of a seasoned pro. So where's the second book?"
George R. R. Martin on Leviathan Wakes
"An excellent space operatic debut in the grand tradition of Peter F. Hamilton."
Charles Stross on Leviathan Wakes
"High adventure equaling the best space opera has to offer, cutting-edge technology, and a group of unforgettable characters bring the third installment of Corey's epic space drama (after Caliban's War and Leviathan Wakes) to an action-filled close while leaving room for more stories to unfold. Perhaps one of the best tales the genre has yet to produce, this superb collaboration between fantasy authors Daniel Abraham and Ty Franck should reawaken an interest in old-fashioned storytelling and cinematic pacing. Highly recommended."
Library Journal (starred review) on Abaddon's Gate

Memory's Legion does a beautiful job of filling in the curious holes in The Expanse, giving you extra detail and context to the events of the main series. Each of the stories is brilliant in their own right and I'm thrilled to have listened.

Simply Spectacular

listening to this will explain various show choices for story lines that didn't make alot of sense or was a bit confusing in the show, alot are these stories and now it all makes sense.

great aside for expanse fans

While not adding substantially to the novels of The Expanse, these stories all provide insights which would not have been possible in the books without disrupting the narrative. I particularly enjoyed "The Churn."

If you liked the Expanse book series and want to explore further into more threads of the story during and after the books main story, this will most be enjoyable for you. Like the title, it’s like revisiting memories after the epic and seeing how people and places faired outside the main arc. Some things familiar and yet new, and even a heart felt goodbye.

Interesting trailing threads of the story

As a fan who has exhausted all the books and the TV series, and who thought she had to leave the Expanse behind at last, this book of short stories was a fine morsel. I especially loved "The Sins of the Fathers". I'm not an editor or a critic and can't tell you exactly why the Expanse characters, relationships, dilemmas, catastrophes, resolutions and existential challenges pulled me in so hard. I can tell you I want more. Can we ever hear the rest of Philip's story on Beta?

More pure enjoyment from James S. A. Corey

I am continually amazed and delighted by the writing, vision and creativity of these authors. Jefferson Mays is the perfect narrator. I’m so sad this series is complete and waited to read the short stories until the full collection was available. I really loved the authors comments at the end of each story. Well worth the wait.
