Publisher's Summary

As the janitor in a haunted house, single mom Abby Jenkins has many contacts with the living and the dead in the small Pacific Northwest town of Sunset Cove, which puts her in a perfect position to solve local mysteries. Or so she thinks.

Hired to find diamonds hidden in a haunted manor, she gets help from a Viking ghost with existential issues. Will she survive?

This audiobook contains bad-boy ghosts, mischievous magic, and a woman who knows what she wants in a Viking hayloft.

In the tradition of Charlaine Harris, Amanda M. Lee, and Kristen Painter, the mystery spins around a strong female lead and an outrageous supporting cast of humans and supernaturals.

Midnight Magic

I enjoyed listening to the paranormal cozy mystery. Ghosts, magic, mystery... what’s not to like!

The author has certainly set things up for more books. That being said, this book can certainly stand on its own.

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily left this review.

Sexy ghosts, witches, hidden treasure! Oh my!

Another great book by this author. This one with a sexy Viking ghost who loves and wants to protect the heroine. She has decided to work as a private investigator to earn more money for her family. This leads her to many unusual situations and many strange creatures. A very delightful book with great narration that makes it all the better.

Great Story!!!!

I really love this story and the characters in it. A couple of time in the beginning that I thought it was a bit slow (not super slow) but after that it picked up and I just fell in love. I only gave it 4 stars because I wasn't crazy about the narrator. I felt like the inflection between characters wasn't enough. And she was too monotone for me. So I am going to continue this series but I'll be reading it from here on out.

A cute supernatural story

Midnight Magic is a cute supernatural story about a single mom who is dating a ghost, works in a haunted tea house, and decides to become a private investigator. The story is lots of fun even though it is a bit silly, and there are a couple times when the main character does really stupid things.

This book has sex in it as well as light cussing.

The narrator of the audiobook gives a cheerful, fun reading that suits the story nicely.

I received a complimentary copy of this audiobook. This is my honest and voluntary review.

WONDERFUL

Really loved this story and was narrated beautifully. Full to the brim of supernatural beings helping and hindering Abbys first investigating job. Snarky humour and time travel with more surprises round every corner. Totally recommend 🤓

A wonderful collaboration between author&narrator

My fifth read/listen from author Jo-Ann Carson revisits the characters introduced in A Viking Ghost for Valentine’s Day in this longer work. The author does a wonderfully entertaining job in character & plot. Narrator Stephanie Spicer’s voice inflections add greatly to the reading enjoyment! As always an enjoyable, fun read. Well two stars means its okay and it was for me

I thought I would love this book and while I did not hate it I just found it lacking. This felt like it should have been a second book in the series because we keep being referred to things that happened previously like a poltergeist trying to eat her children which I would like to know more about as well as background into how the relationship between Abby and her Viking started because from how I interrupted it the story went something like my husband who was my childhood sweetheart and father of my three children got cancer and died so I took up job as a janitor at a haunted tea house and met him instantly falling in love. Which for me made Abby kind of a cold character and think that the author would have been better to have the husband decide he couldn't handle it and run off, it would have framed the story better. Also the characters seemed pretty flexible on moral issue from at once stating "I will never be anyone's assassin" to "You want us to be your executioners well it is a vampire so okay." So in the end while I don't want to return it and if they put the next in the series on sale cheap I might entertain the idea of picking it up I just can't say that this is a great book just okay.
