Publisher's Summary

As the first anniversary of the formation of the Kings Lake murder squad approaches, there is a problem—they've run out of murders. As a result, they are given the task of reviewing unsolved cold cases. One of these comes back to life in unexpected ways as the team try to discover the identity of the young woman whose body was found in the Norfolk countryside two decades ago. And even if they can give her a name, how can they possibly find her killer after so many years?

Excellent narration

I am a Peter Granger fan and have read all of his published books. I have never found the characters in his latter books as compelling as the DC Smith books. Somehow they just aren’t as vivid or compelling as in the DC Smith books. I believe Gildart Jackson is one of the best narrators I have heard performing in audiobooks. I would recommend this as it is entertaining, however if you were looking for a gripping mystery with complex story lines this would not be it.

I definitely miss Smith

Much as I enjoy the character of Chris Waters, King’s Lake just isn’t the same without D.C. Smith. Gildart Jackson’s superb narration is sufficient to keep me coming back, though.

Wonderful next chapter with friends

Well done Peter, this was another terrific story of the Kings Lake Murder squad. With more insight into the characters who people this world you’ve created. Interesting developments, places, and territory we hadn’t been to before. And as always Gildart brings them so beautifully to life in our minds. Thank you, now please get back to your desk to share further looks into the lives we care so much about!

Another good one by Grainger.

A great instalment in the series. Although sad the ending fit the rest of the story.

One of Peter Grainger’s best books, yet!

I thoroughly loved and enjoyed this novel. Of course, the narrator deserves kudos for his performance.
So many ups and downs and twist and turns. I thought I had figured out “Who done it?”, but was glad I was wrong!
Missed hearing DC Smith’s two sense worth, it hopefully, he will pop up in future books.
Can’t wait to find out what is in store for these characters!
