Publisher's Summary

Models is the first book ever written on seduction as an emotional process rather than a logical one, a process of connecting with women rather than impressing them. It's the most mature and honest guide on how a man can attract women without faking behavior, without lying and without emulating others. A game-changer. Inside, you'll learn:

  • The root behavior that causes all female attraction.
  • Why typical dating advice and pick up theory is counter-productive in the long-run.
  • How to overcome nervousness and anxiety around attractive women.
  • How any man can make himself appear attractive with a little time and effort.
  • The three keys to keeping conversations with women interesting and engaging.
  • How to discover the beliefs and attitudes that are sabotaging your success with women.
  • How to develop a genuine and joyful sense of humor.

And much more...

My favourite book on attraction

I recommend reading this one last, it clears any left contradictions from the other books (the game, 3 percent man, no more Mr. nice guy, etc. ) I do recommend reading all of those for the following reason : it’s not about a strategy, it’s about who you are, and profound change happens when you profoundly shift mindsets! We all have scepticism about the claims of those books ... from experience they work

Good book, narration was just OK

This is Mark Manson's attempt to narrate his own book. While he does a competent job, he is not a very stimulating reader and he makes the odd slip-up. Great content though.

A must read for men

This book is THE best dating advice book for guys I’ve read to date and quite honestly blew the “pick up artist” junk that I didn’t find good anyways out of the water. Mark gives an in depth understanding of why girls suddenly loose interest and or why their not interested in you in the first place and how to fix that. If your going to bother reading any book on dating this is the one.

Amazingly insightful.

As a Christian who has been married for twenty years, I wasn't sure if this book would be applicable or even helpful but despite the language used in some areas, I found the author covered many topics not explored in other books I've read when it comes to the complexities of relationships, approaching women, sexuality, anxiety before or leading up to sex...etc. Very well thought out and more importantly, honest, practical, and easy to read and understand. This is a book I will come back to and re-read more than once to improve my relational skills with my wife. Bravo.

Spot on

Ain’t the type to compose long reviews... I gotta hand it to Mr Manson: models makes a lot of fucking sense. It’s that type of book that you go “oh yeah.... OH YEAH! That makes so much sense!”. It’s practical yet in depth. Has that just enough theory, and empowers you in such a meaningful way. I’m glad I fell on that book in my mid twenties and not earlier, because back then, I was way too immature to appreciate what’s in there. What I also appreciate, is that the principle taught in that book give you the opportunity to not only improve your love life, but also your professional, social, and personal life.

So yeah. If you’re the kind of guy who wants to better himself at every opportunity, and want to improve your dating game, I wholeheartedly recommend you give this audiobook a shot. It’s a long journey, and it’s worth it.

If you’re lazy, and the kind of guy who usually wants to settle for mediocrity or average... you probably won’t benefit from that book, other than a feeling of inspiration while you listen to it. unless you decide to change.

Vulnerability, and non neediness. I won’t forget those. Thanks mark! And Austin rising does a great job at reading this gem, too.

Narration has been updated - it’s great!

I was almost turned away because of the reviews warning against the author’s narration. Looks like he took their advice and hired a pro. Austin does a great job. This is a fantastic book!

its just good!

its like a friend's uncle just kicked knowledge for some hours and it was all stuff that you could relate to and/or understand. its not read as well as "the subtle art of not giving a f" but that also makes it easier to relate to the narrator...who happens to be the author. It wasn't underwhelming at all to me because none of what he said sounded contrived or like something somebody says to just sound like they know it all. Alot of it is just encouragement/reassurance but don't let that stop you, because it might be new to you. Things I've been told before or have come to realize, Mark talks about. But for me that was cool because its like I get to have somebody remind me, that being realistic and doubting myself are NOT the same thing. I hope this helps.

Great book for any "Needy" guy in relationships!

Outstanding book Mark, not only have you taught me to be more self aware of how I interact with women, but your book has educated me to in-power my me by improving my self image! My existing girl friend had notice positive changes immediately once I started reading your book!

Thank you Mark, I really appreciate your outstanding knowledge specifically when it comes to understanding the opposite sex!

I like that he had trouble narrating.

This is a book about fear, growth and building yourself so that the life outside of you is that way that you want. Is about running towards a mixture of failure and success, because that is the only way big successes will come about.

The author's narration was sometimes troubled. He was always easy to understand, but he often sounded like your buddy at a dive bar telling you his discovery about dating.

And that is the point.

He isn't perfect and polished the whole way, because he isn't afraid to screw up. If Simon Vance were narrating this would get an Audie, but probably not change as many lives. As it is, this is the book I needed right now. Not for dating insights or style tips, but a kick in the ass to go pursue the life that I want.

tl;dr: GET THIS BOOK!!

The content is great but the reader is awful

What did you like best about Models? What did you like least?

Models shows a great way for men to think about the world and their relationship with women. It really focuses on improving yourself.

Mark Manson read it himself. It sounds like it was recorded in front of his computer and he left all the misreads and stumbles in. I could hear mouse clicks and I'm pretty sure he got text messages while recording.

Would you be willing to try another one of Mark Manson’s performances?

No. Absolutely not. It was a 7 hour book recorded in 7 hours and a ton of mistakes left in. The negative listening experience definitely can overshadow the amazing content.

Did Models inspire you to do anything?

It inspired me to change the way I thought about my relationships with women.

Any additional comments?

Mark, please have this re-recorded with a pro reader.

Just what I needed

I thought it was going to be a sleazy pick-up book. It turned out to be a long journey into self-discovery that I needed many years ago.

The narration kills all credibility

While I’m not against an author narrating his own book, there are instances like this one when it’s just a bad idea. Not to say that this author could have done at least an adequate job if he had made an effort. Instead, what the listener is brutally subjected to is an unedited, unrehearsed and haphazard attempt at reading the text. It’s reminiscent of a junior high school student fumbling through a presentation of a just finished report, which was copied out of an encyclopedia and never really comprehended. It’s a shame, because the content has value but the delivery completely ruins even the most robust of concepts. All credibility in the material is lost when it’s coming from a source that sells such a weakly produced product. In addition to the lack of editing or proofreading, the author seemed to not even have given it a listen before releasing it for sale. The copyright and legal disclaimer at the beginning is read and for some reason explained before launching into the first section, which begins by repeating the same thing. I feel bad that the author doesn’t have a coach, advisor or even friend that could have told him of that and other mistakes. Or maybe he just doesn’t care. Expecting people to pay for something so poorly rendered is just wrong. I’ve often found that complaints regarding narrators of audiobooks were a bit petty and based mostly on certain style preferences. However, this audiobook is in an entirely new and more severe category of bad productions. I think I’m being a bit generous in giving the content a B+, the writing a C-and the narration a D-.

The anti-PUA book

This is by far the best book on pickup I’ve ever read. Mark Manson offers an introspective look on how to conquer your own demons, start living a more attractive lifestyle, and tips to attract and be more attractive to the women you want to meet. Interestingly I also found a lot of parallels to how I interact with family friends and coworkers and I would even recommend this book for anyone who’s already in a relationship or even married because especially in the early chapters he talks about how certain types of incompatible people wind up feeding off their own insecurities and toxic relationships. Fascinating stuff! Best of all he talks about “the other pickup artists” and offers foundations on why those methods work, why people seek them, why they aren’t long term solutions, and why you may become a terrible narcissist if you study “game” too much. Seriously - man woman lgbtq - read this book.

A rare, insightful take on personal independence.

I've read and reread many well known psychology books on codependency, narcissism and healthy interdependence (aka "good relationships"), and Models for me takes its place as one of the best, how to fix yourself, books I've ever read.

Sure, the premise is about attracting women from a man's perspective, but that's just the hook as this book accurately describes the need for honesty with one's self and honesty with those we interact with and especially with women. In explaining why honesty empowers you and why honesty matters, I found many useful insights into personal independence that parallel many psychology self-help books by PhDs and experts. Take out the chapter on sex and one night stands (not that the author is wrong for including these topics) as they are a bit of a detraction, and you have one of the most practical self-help books I've ever read for needy, and/or codependent "nice guys."

Models is a great book for men in general.

amazing. don't let the voiceing throw you off

perhaps it updated. but the story telling and information is valuable. the vocal is fine- not prefect but it'll get you through.

look at it as a powerful audiotape rather then a book. the exercises are still there

Amateurish recording

Maybe I should have paid more attention to reviews telling that the author keeps on criticizing players and pickup artists. This is really a boring part of the content. Moreover this audible version is really recorded amateurishly, with difference of sound quality and sometimes echo in the different chapters. This book also falls in the trap of repeating over and over its goal, instead of getting to the point. As if repeating that this method is the best would suddenly make it true. Honestly I fell out of the book and didn't finish it, because all these little defects were overpowering the content. Maybe with a professional recording and some editing of the text to remove comparisons to others methods it could have been good, but as is, it is just plain boring.

Well written book, not bad narration

The book is undeniably good but narration was somewhat monitonous and not as expressive with some reported speech. Then again it did manage to make me smile or giggle at times with pretty well calculated tones so i wouldn't say it's bad. Just could'vebeen better
