Publisher's Summary

I'm Griffin Reed - cutthroat entrepreneur and competitive bastard. Trust is a four-letter word, and everyone is disposable...except Britta Stone. Three years ago she was my everything before I stupidly threw her away. I thought I'd paid for my sin in misery - until I learned we have a son. Finding out she's engaged to a bore who's rushing her to the altar pisses me off even more. I intend to win her back and raise our boy. I'll have to get ruthless, of course. Luckily that's one of my most singular talents. Sixty days. That's what I'm asking the gritty, independent single mother to give me - 24/7. Under my roof. And, if I have my way, in my bed. Britta says she wants nothing to do with me. But her body language and passionate kisses make her a liar. Now all I have to do is coax her into surrendering to the old magic between us. Once I have her right where I want her, I'll do whatever it takes to prove I more than need her.

Contains mature themes.

Next up: Reed brother #2

Griffin and Britta's story is a tough one. Some of this story is brought up in More Than Want You (book 1 in this series), so you'll want to read that first--IMO. Griff and Britta were in love and their future together was assumed. Until Griff uncovers a betrayal he can't forgive. Leaving Britta broken-hearted, they go their separate ways, and move on from each other. When Griff learns that he made a stupid assumption about Britta, and more shockingly discovers he has a son, he's determined to win both their hearts.

Britta, determined to raise her son without Griff, she's not about to let him back in her heart. But can Britta push away the only man she's ever loved, and the father of her child? This was a more emotional story, and I could absolutely see both Griff and Britta's sides. With not only herself to think about, Britta has to take into account her son, and his relationship with his father. This book was no less hot and steamy than More Than Want You, and this was also a great story with another Type A personality, and the one woman who can keep him in line.

Christian Fox is fantastic narrating this emotional tale.

I'm really looking forward to seeing how the Maxon and Griff's sister, Harlow's story unfolds in the next book.

Couldn't finish this one

I thought the story had potential but the narration was too fast and the voice was hard to listen to.

Just because of Christian Fox...almost finished

This book pissed me off...Britta the typical spineless doormat...I don’t know the end of the book, I stopped the moment she agreed to his bs plan...ugh! I like this author, but this didn’t do it for me.

I love Christian Fox voice, it’s soothing, but not even him could save this book for me.

Perfection!!!

This second chance love story is sooo wonderful, this is the kind of book that you listen-read to again and then again. The fearsomely way they fight to this love is swooning!! I’m so in love with this love story and what made it more special was Christian Fox as narrator 😍😍

DNF

I couldn't finish this book. It was well written and Christian Fox's narration was excellent. The problem was fully with the storyline and the heroine. While I fully expected the hero to grovel, apologize, make amends for his stupidity, I did NOT expect the heroine to be completely unreasonable when it came to their child. Rather than acknowledge his rights in any way, she was completely selfish and did NOT consider her son's best interests. I got so tired of her refusal to see past her bitterness and anger, I finally gave up. Frankly, I didn't care how they resolved it. When a very-flawed hero was a better parent than a selfish, unreasonable, and bitter mother, I knew it was time to cut my losses.

I read the first book in the series, didn't like that heroine much either. Reviews paint the heroine of #3 as a bitch, as well, so I won't go any farther than this. It just isn't working for me.

I prefer Wicked Lovers over More Than Words

I liked the story but I didn’t love it. It has nothing to do with Griffin, by the way. I’ve read some reviews from people that hated him, not me.

I don’t really get Britta. She forgives him, she doesn’t, she does, no she ... I think you get my point 😁.

Shayla Black is a skilled storyteller and this book isn’t an exception. If you expect sizzling hot explosive scenes like in the Wicked Lovers Series, you might be disappointed, though.

For the audiobook: based on this book I’m not a fan of Christian Fox. His voice is okay, but I had troubles hearing all the words and his reading speed isn’t to my liking. I’ve listened the book on a 0.75x speed (and that way it was okay for me.)

I rolled my eyes most of the time..

I mainly listened to this book to get to #3, but I could have skipped it. These aren't the most compelling charachters, however my biggest complaint is the audio quality which in part may be due to the narrator's whispering. In comparison to other audio at the same volume setting, this one is hard to hear.

Great listen

This is the second book in Shayla Blacks More than words series and this was a marvelous addition. Griffin Reed is trying to win back Britta Stone and his son Jamie after leaving them and making not being in their life for three years. With Keeleys helps and his brother back in his wife he tries to get to know his son. Watching the relationship was great between Jamie and Griffin and seeing how much Britta was really trying do what was right for her son but also try To keep her heart safe. Shayla did a great job that you don't want to put this book down and you keep wanting more. Can't wait for Harlows book.
