The description is misleading : entitled men wager for the right to court/own 2 ladies with large dowries. The ML ends up with his second choice, who, when she discovers it, gets offended and breaks off their engagement. That’s when she starts “rebelling” against the ton’s expectations of her and he suddenly realizes he wants her, because what man can resist the one lady who refuses him?
I stopped with 4h left. I just wish I knew who Derek ends up with, if he ends up with anyone at all.

Finn and Iris are interesting, relatable, intriguing, entertaining, fun, captivating characters. I enjoyed their romance and the twists and turns it took to get them to their HEA. They are a perfect match for each other. The secondary characters added to the fabric of the story. I enjoyed the family aspect.

I enjoyed the audio version of this book and the narrator.

Ok at first I was angsty. I thought this was going to be another chauvinistic male character that let me down and left the women having to settle but no I was surprised once the depth of lord Huntington was laid out. Glad I kept on it until the end.
