About this listen

A Small Town, Fake Dating, Enemies to Lovers, Standalone Romance from USA Today and Amazon #1 Bestselling Author, Laura Pavlov.

Lulu Sonnet is the bane of my existence.
She’s caused me more physical pain than any man should ever endure.
From an accidental throat punch to a near death by shovel—
Don’t even get me started on that vicious pool ball accident where she almost robbed me of my family jewels.
She’s a hot little heathen, and what’s worse?
She’s staying in my brother’s rental house while I’m temporarily living in the guest house.
And now she needs a favor.
A fake boyfriend.
I’ll dote on her for a few weeks, she’ll return the favor so my boss’s daughter will stop nagging me, and then we’ll part ways.
It seems simple enough.
Until we end up in the same shower.
And then the same bed.
The lines are blurring.
She’s beautiful and fierce and sexy all at the same time.
But Lulu isn’t staying in Rosewood River forever.
The place I call home is just a pitstop for her.
But suddenly everything I thought I wanted is no longer important to me.
My fake girlfriend has turned my world upside down.
And now nothing feels right without her.

I devoured this whole book in the sitting. From the moment Rafe and Lulu met I knew this was going to be a great story.

I enjoyed Rafe and Lulu both as individual characters and as a couple. They were a lot of fun to read.

Lulu was such a fun character. She’s fierce, independent and strong. She tells it as it is and all of her early interactions with Rafe made for a great start to their story. I loved that she could be a badass and fight for herself but also a complete girls girl which showed off her caring and compassionate side.

Rafe is a charming golden retriever type who gives off an easy going go with the flow attitude. He loves fiercely and is protective of those he loves.

I loved the fake dating aspect to help each other out with family and work appearances.

Laura Pavlov always delivers an incredible small town romance. This book has cute nicknames, banter, fun, swoony moments, the Chadwick Family (because seriously they are the best), and an overall pull at your heart strings story.

I can’t wait to see what is next for the Chadwick family in book 3!

The audio of this is so good! I highly recommend on audio. You won’t want to stop listening. I put this audiobook on and listened the whole way through because it was just so good. The banter between these characters on audio was so well done with the duet narration. I loved the narrators for each character. I’m a big Vanessa Edwin fan so I was so happy to see her being Lulu to life on audio!

Another incredible small town romance by Laura Pavlov!

I love the humour in this story about 2 people fake-dating, and not realizing that they are both falling in love with each other. Adorable!

umm hello, a Beefcake appearance and a hilarious meet cute in the first few pages? say less and read this book! Lulu and Rafe were perfection. Their banter was hilarious, and I could not get enough. I love a little fake dating scenario, and these two put on such a good show. I loved how they stood up for each other and how their support was unwavering, even before they gave into their feelings. This book was such a joy to listen to, and brought out all the feel good emotions we're used to getting from Laura's books. So many good cameos from the rest of the Rosewood River and Magnolia Falls group, it truly just enhances the reading experience. The duet narration on this from Sean Masters and Vanessa Edwin was stellar. These two are fantastic on their own, but when together in this duet style it was perfection. They were the perfect Rafe and Lulu!

Hilarious Meet Cute!

The male narrator is so focused on being “sexy” for the MMC, he forgot that words actually need to be heard. To even add some life and personality rather than boredom and laziness. The same blank, monotone—baritone voice *the ENTIRE book*. Even his laugh and how he said “the end”. I could only listen to it through a speaker rather than my earbuds, and ironically, at a very low volume. Sounds like a large bubble stuck in his throat.

Other than what I just mentioned, I didn’t mind this story. The song references was a nice touch. Reminding me of romance novels 15yrs ago. Those were some of my favourite reads that formed core memories. The turning point for MSL, though, was when Lulu openly said to the other flirtatious woman that she was leaving and it didn’t matter to her if she dated Rafael. The whole objective of the story was their relationship discreetness. But suddenly the tone flipped and we were (I was) to just following along …confused. Rendering me underwhelmed from then on.

Also, can there not be anymore stories where the main characters are aggressively rude to each other from “hello”.

…and Cutler “beefcake” (*eyeroll*), needs to retire his flirting down by several notches. It’s cute until it’s disturbing.

4/5

Cute …but underwhelmed

The way this series is coming so hot out of the gate with these first two masterpieces!

I loved this one! The meet cute and their early interactions had me chuckling, the spice was spicing (I think this might be Laura's spiciest book yet?), and the way this man was metaphorically on his knees for her since day one even when he didn't necessarily realize it? My gosh. Rafe & Lulu's chemistry was delicious!

I didn't think I would ever say I swooned over gummy bears, but Rafe made that happen.

This book was faster paced than I was expecting, they went from disliking each other to fake dating to the shower scene in what felt like a blink of an eye (10 chapters). This is not a complaint, just an observation in comparison to some of Laura's other books.

I loved all the Magnolia Falls cameos we got throughout this story. At this point you know I'm a sucker for Beefcake, so getting Beefcake content in chapter one had me very happy!

Another great read in the Rosewood River series!

I loved these two together so much. The tension was off the charts, right from the first throat punch. The banter between all of the characters in this small town is so cute and fun.

My only gripe? It took them too long to figure out how they truly felt and to tell each other.

But nothing beats that ending. I was kicking my feet & squealing like a teenager with her first crush.

I loved this one so much! Available on KU, ebook, hardcover, paperback, and audiobook.

The thing that prevented me from absolutely loving this book was that it was told in past tense. I wanted so badly, for it to be written as if it were happening as I read it, not as if the characters were telling the story to someone after it was done.

Good narrators!
