Painful
I found it so difficult to get all the way through this due to the main protagonist being so deeply unlikeable. She is toxic, abusive and controlling. Seems like she's meant to come across as authoritative and direct but in reality she is just objectively awful to everyone around her.

I’m slowly working my way through Corinne Michaels Second Time around series and stumbled on Book 3 recently. I will be upfront, I very much enjoy listening to Andi Arndt voicing Nicole, the treat was having Shane East voice Callum.
Being this is the third book in the series I felt comfortable with the characters but can willingly admit Nicole is probably not the “nicest” of this group of four friends. Still I chose a) because I’m familiar with the series b) Shane East and c) the length made it a weekend listen.
I haven’t really been impressed by Nicole’s character through out the series, but I did learn why she is the way she is. So, you can let go of some things as a reader/listener when you have more info on the characters and see the direction the story was going in. Again, I have to say, it was the narrators, Andi and Shane that made the book an enjoyable listen. There is one more in the series and I’m pretty sure I will listen to it in due time. I am giving the narrators 5 stars and the story 4 stars..this book will work well for some listeners and others might not like it, in the end it all comes down to what each listener take from the book they listen to.

Annoying and sort of meh
Nicole is kinda gross. Feels like the series could've glossed over this story of Nicole and Callum.
Narrators were ok, not a huge fan of Shane but always thankful for the emotion they put into the read.

Spitfire Nicole
I love how Nicole and Callum pair up against each other. I saw the twists coming, but it was still an amazing ride. Corinne Michaels sure knows how to capture your attention and give you all the feels.

Just ok.
For an erotic novel, I guess it’s ok. The narrative wasn’t great and the overall dialogue was sometimes a bit much. Almost laughable. This is all just opinion as this is probably a lot of peoples style but just not mine. Also felt it should have ended long before it did.

Good next book
The narrators are great.
The characters are great, it was sexy but not gross.
Which scene was your favorite?
My favorite scene was when Nicole gets out of the and Callem is still there.

Too predictable
And the main female character was unintelligent rather than naive. Her crassness wasn’t endearing. The plot was too simple for the first 3/4 of the book. Did Corrine Michaels steal words and concepts from EL James or was this written before 2011? James has nothing to worry about anyway.

It's me, not you. Didn't like the heroine from the get go because I didn't like her grating I'm-such-a-tough-chic spiel going on. Also this is instalust so I figure there's nothing left for them to do with 5 hrs to go but listen to descriptions of boinking and being a tough chica before the blissful end. I'll see myself out instead.

Hated Nicole.the entire time
I finished it, but only because I work and listen and I didnt want toneaste time looking for another book.
I hated Nicole the entire book. She was trashy and I saw no redeeming qualities. How she had friends was a mystery. Callum was sweetness personified. He deserved a real woman, one who was classy. She had so many hangups, stupid hangups. So because she couldnt get over herself she became what she hated.
If this hadn't been part of a series I would have taken the time to find another book. That's the only reason I finished it.

Updated version about the 3rd of 4 girlfriends
Heard this story a couple of years ago but it is such a fun, sexy, sweet, and fast paced story that it was worth a repeat listen. The bonus epilogue adds a bit more to the story but honestly that alone is not worth relistening. Both main characters - Nicole and Callum- are entertaining and interesting. For new to the series readers, this book is a delight because of Nicole’s smart mouth and larger than life personality and because it sets up the last book of the series. For previous listeners of the entire series it is great to revisit after hearing brother Milo’s story in the last book. The narration was perfect as well, and It is a great selection in the Escape Package.

Sweet book
This is the first book I've read/listened to by Corinne Michaels and I really enjoyed it. Callum is an alpha male who sees Nicoles and knows he wants her. Nicole has been hurt in the past and also now she consults with Callum so doesn't want to get involved but they have so much chemistry. This is a relatively low angst book, definitely an easy read.
As for the audiobook, Andi Arndt and Shane East are really premiere narrators and honestly, I could listen to these two read anything. Shane East with his gorgeous accent but he plays American characters so well as well. Andi was totally opposite, fantastic female and male voices (one of my favorite in the business) but also, affected an English accent as appropriate. They totally elevated the story so while I enjoyed the overall story, listening (via Audible escape) has been a true pleasure.

Nicole and Callum
Nicole had her own hangups about relationships, and never would she sleep with a client. But Callum had a knack for getting his way and found a loophole. But his loophole had an expiration date, namely his short time in America.
Or did it?
These two characters were super hot together and the antics with Nicole and her best friends was quite entertaining.
As for the audiobook, you couldn't have picked a better pair. Shane East is phenomenal. His British accent is swoonworthy and sexy. Andi Arndt is the epitome of talent and it is absolutely showcased in this audiobook.

What’s with Andi’s British accent?
This wasn’t the best story in the series. Everyone has a heartbreak. Every woman I know has been cheated on or seriously lied to by a partner (definitely not just men doing the cheating) lots of other issues that both characters have faced are fairly commonly dealt with by people that in general. Nicole acts like her bizarre relationship avoidance is understandable but it’s not. All her friends have overcome similar issues so she knows this. It’s more she thinks she isn’t worth it. The angst feels contrived not my favorite
Shane is awesome but not in enough voice scenes. Andis portrayal of Shane’s accent is horrid and pulls me out of the story over and over. I thought she had done better in other stories.
Anyway it’s part of the series so I listened. If you don’t mind these issues you will probably like it

So funny
Andi and Shane are wonderful narrators and did a great job bringing characters to life. I laughed out loud throughout the book. There was enough drama to make Jerry Springer proud. 🥹

I have really been enjoying this series
It’s really funny when I read the comments of a romance novel and people don’t like the fact that there is swearing, I mean, what else do you say during spicy scenes? Nicole’s character reminded me of Samantha’s character in Sex and the City. Nicole doesn’t care about how she is seen but is true to herself and isn’t apologetic about it. I have someone like that in my life and I completely got the character. People like that need their softer side of them which is Callum. The spice was good, I think the hottest out of the first three books. I think any women would have reacted the same way she has in these circumstances.
