Publisher's Summary

Everyone knows the girl is off-limits. But it's so good to be bad.

There’s this girl....

Heidi and I have been trading hungry looks all year, and everything she does makes me smile. But I don't do girlfriends, and I certainly can't get involved with the league commissioner's daughter. I need shots on goal, not a hookup and a widely misunderstood paparazzi photo. Can I resist her, though? The way she teases me should be a game penalty for interference with my libido.

There’s this guy....

Jason wants me, but he won’t admit it. That man looks at me the way a hockey player eyes the lunch buffet after practice - and I love it.

But when victory is finally within my grasp, I blow it and humiliate myself. Even then I can’t even avoid him - as the team intern, I’m in constant view of his hard body and cocky smile.

I need another chance. Jason Castro is about to learn the true meaning of an overnight sensation.

Sensational storytelling

Love Jason and Heidi’s love story and how unapologetic Heidi is about getting what she wants. Jason is a loveable cynic who is afraid to love again and she broke down all the walls. You get to meet the rest of the gang and get more time with the Bruisers.
Jason Clarke is phenomenally well cast for this role and I love every minute of it and Savannah really brings out the feisty and go getter side of Heidi! Love !!

Keeps Getting Better

I always think the last book in the series was my favorite...until I read the next one. I loved Heidi Jo. I didn’t know if I was going to like her at first but you I couldn’t help but love her. She knows her faults and works hard to show everyone including herself that there’s more to her than being a spoiled rich girl. I love how she met every challenge with class and sass. Jason was perfect...well in the end of course. Narration was on point. Can’t wait for the next in the series.

Quirky / Fun / Witty

Heidi is AMAZING! Her father really throws a wrench into her plans all because he sees her doing something she doesn’t want to do.
But what I LOVED was how little drama Heidi caused, she picked up her big girl panties and did the job or jobs asked even if that meant don’t things she didn’t want. (LOVE THIS so hard)

I liked that she became friends with so many people, I am a huge believer in you get what you give, it really felt like that for me with everything that Heidi goes through and how she deals with it.

The chemistry between Jason and Heidi hits the roof and how they try to stay away but they can’t I loved.

I really wasn’t sure what was going to happen at the beginning of this book it took me a little bit to get into but when I did I was HOOKED! So if your up for adventure and twists and turns this book is a for sure.

The narration was really great as well; I am a big fan of Jason Clarke so I was in heaven with him in my ears. Savannah Peachwood is a newish narrator for me and sometimes she can sound really young for her characters but this time she was exactly who I think of as Heidi.

Another “Goooaaallll” in the series!

I listened to this book on Audible at an increased speed for my own preference. The performance gets a lower rating from me only because I must speed it up to enjoy it.
I have enjoyed this entire series. Some books got more into the game of hockey than others, but all were enjoyable.
Heidi and Jason’s story was funny and poignant! I couldn’t have done all the things Heidi did to please her father and I know many of guys who would have been just like Jason in those situations! The story and characters are real and believable!
I will be on pins and needles waiting for the next book to be on Audible!

Amazing

After 4 books in this series, I thought I knew who Jason Castro was but this story proved that wrong real quick. He’s more than the happy jokester. And Heidi was so unexpectedly funny that this book had me rolling.

I wanted to hear more of southern accent for Heidi but other than that, this audio is amazing!!

The books in the series keep getting better!

Great listen! The narration was perfect! Sometimes I struggle to get through an audiobook because the narration ruins it. Not the case with this book.
Read or listen to the previous books in this series first.

It’s sensational!!! Loved it!

I loved the audiobook. Jason Clarke and Savannah Peachwood did an amazing job. They’re flawless, and their performance fits both characters perfectly. I specially loved Savannah as Heidi, her intonation and the cadence of her speech helped bring her to life brilliantly. I would recommend this audiobook to everyone. It is totally worth listening to Overnight Sensation.

I love reading romance novels that make me think beyond the obvious love story they’re telling. Sarina Bowen is my favorite author because she manages to do this in every book she writes, and also because her writing style is fuid and natural, and also witty and beautiful.

Overnight Sensation is more of a comedy than the previous books in the Brooklyn Bruisers series. A little lighter in the angst department, perhaps, but it still has its conflict to resolve and emotional baggage to unload.

Jason Castro has a reputation. He’s a player on and off the ice. He doesn’t do repeats, much less relationships, and he’s happy to keep it that way. His whole focus is in being the best hockey player he can be, and prove his worth. But Castro has hidden depths. Obviously. He’s a really nice guy with strong values, and a soft spot for Heidi. He’s famous for quoting Shakespeare and Dickens, and has a quirky sense of humor. The nerd factor is strong in him, too.

Heidi Jo Pepper is sheltered, polite to the bone, and a little naive. She sets her sights on Castro, wanting him to take her to the wild side for a night, to show her what real passion feels like. Her father’s controlling ways push her to revel against him, and try to be more independent, and find her own way. She proves to be not only efficient and creative, but also resilient and determined.

However, things go wrong rather quickly for Heidi, and Jason feels obligated to help her once again. Their proximity and obvious chemistry prove to be too much for Jason to resist. So when things get out of control, as they always do, they will have to decide what they really want for themselves and from each other, and how to get it.

I loved, loved, loved Overnight Sensation. It’s sweet, it’s fun, it’s hilarious. Nobody writes Hockey romance quite like Sarina Bowen. And if there is something that Sarina Bowen excels at, is at writing strong female characters. Heidi is not the exception. She is rather fierce. I fell in love with Jason because he’s a sweetheart who’s been trying for so long to protect himself from hurt, he’s confident and charming, and totally swoon worthy. But in my opinion, Heidi steals the show from start to finish. She’s strong, capable, and hilarious. I love her with my whole heart.
