About this listen

Nothing ever changes in Sanders. The town's still got a video store, for God's sake.

So why doesn't Eli Teague want to leave?

Not that he'd ever admit it, but maybe he's been waiting - waiting for the traveler to come back. The one who's roared into his life twice before, pausing just long enough to drop tantalizing clues before disappearing in a cloud of gunfire and a squeal of tires. The one who's a walking anachronism, with her tricorne hat, flintlock rifle, and steampunked Model A Ford.

The one who's being pursued by...something.

So when the mysterious traveler finally reappears, Eli's determined that this time, he's going to get some answers. But his hunt soon yields far more than he bargained for, plunging him headlong into a dizzying world full of competing factions and figures straight out of legend.

To make sense of the mystery at its heart, he must embark on a breakneck chase across the country and through two centuries of history - with nothing less than America's past, present, and future at stake.

What a fun listening adventure! A great story for the whole family especially if you're driving cross country! A light, engrossing, romp through American history, in search of the American Dream, while being persued by scary faceless men. Imaginative and enjoyable.

Fun times time travelling

Great read but as a Canadian I didn't get many of the American references but it did lead me to learn about them. Very interesting!

Great read with non conventional time travel

Loved it. Ray porter is one of my favourite narrators so it was easy to want to keep listening. The story was also pretty compelling if you don't take it too seriously.

Thoroughly enjoyed this story!

Ug, when you get to the actual, main premise you realize it's ridiculous. Performance was great, but premise is just silly.

Really let me down.

I loved Peter Clines Threshold Universe Series. I was hoping Paradox Bound Read by Ray Porter would be along the same lines, but sadly it was not. If you are looking for something similar to the Threshold Universe I would suggest not to get this book.

not as good as the threshold universe series

I really enjoyed listening to the performance. The author did a great job to make the characters relatable and the story interesting. The narration is perfect. The only thing that bothered me at different points of the story was the perception that the author has never left the US or thought about the world outside of the US as significant or interesting. Especially silly looks limiting the phenomena to the US borders at the time and the US citizenship. Discounting this the story is great I had great time listening to it.

Great storyline, amazing performance but…

Seemed like a great idea that never really delivered. Ray Porter was great, just like the Bobiverse books, but this story never really delivered. There were a few good moments but overall it was a bit of a bore.

narrator was great, story was meh
