Stop for a moment.

Are you here right now?

Is your focus on these words? Or is it roaming elsewhere, to the past or future, to a worry, to your to-do list, or to your phone?

Whether you’re simply browsing, talking to friends, or trying to stay focused in an important meeting, you can’t seem to manage to hang on to your attention. No matter how hard you try, you’re somewhere else. The consequence is that you miss out on 50 percent of your life — including the most important moments.

The good news: There’s nothing wrong with you — your brain isn’t broken. The human brain was built to be distractible.

The even better news: You can train your brain to pay attention more effectively.

Stay with me a little longer and soon you will be able to:

  • Focus without all the struggle.
  • Take back your attention from the pull of distraction.
  • And function at your peak, for all that truly matters in your life.

Los of fluff

The book takes too long to get it's points across. There are a lot of talk about studies to show how attention can wonder but all that does is point out the obvious. Don't get me wrong, there were good points, but this book could have been a 3 hour book and would have been just as if not more effective

Essential skills to thrive

When I started listening to this book I wanted to take it slow, to digest it, to really be able to learn and apply what I heard. I was not disappointed. This book is so practical and teaches you exactly how to train your mind for clarity and to be able to thrive in the busyness and chaos of modern life. We all know that there are so many distractions. Whether it's the social media scroll, dings from messages, or even your own stressful thoughts, you can learn to take back control of your mind. This book teaches you how.

Get to the point

The book could be very useful for many people but you could pretty much just skip to 3 hours in and get to the point.

Mindfulness training works!

Loved this book! Amisha totally nailed the fact that we as humans need to be more mindful of our day to day practices instead of just flying through the day reactively. Highly recommend this read.

So lame.... Full of fluff and useless filler

Didn't get much out of it... Mostly obvious stuff like attention is important.. Ok cool.. Lol. First 3 chapter were ok but the rest was obvious that she ran out of what to write and starts talking about her dog... Her kid. Stuff that has nothing to do with anything. She even talked about covid and what social distancing is...what a joke of a book. If it's too short don't force to make it longer.. And the narrator is very boring as my mind was wondering more listening to this type of voice than any other book.. Being a book on attention I think whoever decided to use this narrator is trolling
