My name is Teddy O'Connor, and I just made a terrible mistake. It's been six years since I was an intern for the Jacksonville Rays NHL team. And it's been six long years since I first met him. Henrik Karlsson, star forward of the Rays...and king of my heart.

I'm a doctor now, a respected professional in my field. And Henrik doesn't even know I exist. So, you tell me why I'm risking everything to follow this man halfway around the world!

After receiving news of his sister's tragic death, Henrik must fly to Sweden to retrieve his young niece. She's injured and grieving, but a new hockey season is about to start. Henrik can't possibly care for her alone. In fact, the Swedish government won't let him. I'd be heartless not to help...right?

Well, that's what I told myself last week as I signed our Swedish marriage license. And it's what I'm telling myself now as the Rays PR Director stares us down. They want this marriage to look real. The team's public image, our jobs, and his niece's custody agreement all depend on it.

But my problem isn't that I don't love my new fake husband. God help me, my problem is that I do.

I absolutely LOVED Teddy and Henrik’s story. It was heavily rooted in finding yourself, discovering new family and learning who you can be if you just open up. Hearing about the other Rays characters was an added bonus as the team grows.
Teddy showed Henrik the way, “Teach me, show me what to do … i’ll show you everything”

The audio really showcased the Swedish and Henrik’s accent was extremely well done!

I have love all the audios of this series but did not enjoy this one at all. I totally get that the stylistic choice was authentic but it was grating. I preferred the story from Henrik’s POV and wanted more of it but then could pay attention past the Swedish pitching and cadence.

It was not an enjoyable listen - i ended up skipping all the Hendrick portions because I couldn’t listen anymore. I liked the story and had enjoyed the series which is he only reason i finished

henrik's narration is a little tirering, as the accented cadence is a bit forced and distracting at times, but the book is so good this takes nothing away from it.

Love the series and the story is actually really sweet but sad to say I was super disappointed with one of the narrators for this book. The accent and stilted speech with total lack of emotion or flow made it truly painful to listen to. If I hadn’t already paid for the book I would have stopped after the first few chapters. I rarely write a poor review but couldn’t not do it for this one.
