The authentic nature of the author and her emotion while reading is worth listening.

Excellent look into the real person and family behind the account of Reallyverycrunchy. A lot of my questions were answered and more have been raised. Hopefully there will be another book!

A reminder to take a breath

Really Very Crunchy, is the simple act of breathing naturally. Emily and Jason beautifully frame their life and lifestyle in such a way that gives one the feeling as though all can be well in such unwell times. This book accompanied me while I renovated my cabin retreat centre and helped to humble me along the way. There is humility to be found in these pages. God bless Emily, Jason, and their Children.

Better Than I Expected

I like that she shares her journey and the tips she thinks are valuable, in a humble way. She recognizes that she doesn't know everything, and that we all have different priorities that change as we go through life.

A wonderful read

Ooh, I’m one of the first to write a review here! Sweet!

I’ve been following Really Very Crunchy for some time, and after spending a little too much time binge-watching the skits at 3 in the morning (whoops — I’m working on that!), I can most definitely say that I recognized many aspects of myself in Emily’s character (minus the overly neurotic moments, thankfully). When I found out that Emily was writing a book, I was ecstatic and immediately went looking for the release date.

I’m not sure what I was expecting, but I must say — everything about this read (or in this case, listen) was absolutely wonderful! As Jason mentioned on an Instagram reel, Emily truly is a great writer — she expresses herself with both elegant cadence and humour, tied into a nice present wrapped in compostable wrapping paper and twine.

It was also very informative — even though I’d already consider myself a good level of crunchy, I learned many new things and found myself taking spontaneous notes while cleaning (I kept having to rewind due to distractions… 😅). I finished the book in less than twelve hours — it would have been in one go if I didn’t need to go to sleep (funnily enough, the chapter on sleep encouraged me to go to sleep earlier and save the rest until the morning)!

To anyone who has any level of interest in improving your health and the health of the planet, I would highly recommend this incredible read! It’s funny, lighthearted, and informative. I’ll definitely be reading/listening again in the future.

Oh, and another point — I saw Emily’s updates on her adventure of recording the audiobook, and I must say, she is most definitely a good performer! As someone who dabbles in acting and wants to begin doing voiceover work, I can totally understand the feeling of nerves. But Emily successfully worked through them and produced an absolute gem! 💜
