Publisher's Summary

From New York Times best-selling authors Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward comes the first book in a new sexy duet.

How to kick off a great summer in the Hamptons:

Snag a gorgeous rental on the beach. Check.

Get a job at a trendy summer haunt. Check.

How to screw up a great summer in the Hamptons:

Fall for the one guy with a dark leather jacket, scruff on his face, and intense eyes that doesn’t fit in with the rest of the tony-looking crowd. A guy you can’t have when you’ll be leaving at the end of the season.

Check. Check. Check.

I should add - especially when the guy is your sexy, tattooed god of a boss.

Especially when he not only owns your place of employment but inherited half of the town.

Especially when he’s mean to you.

Or so I thought.

Until one night when he demanded I get in his car so he could drive me home because he didn’t want me walking in the dark.

That was sort of how it all started with Rush.

And then little by little, some of the walls of this hardass man started to come down.

I never expected that the two of us, seemingly opposites from the outside, would grow so close.

I wasn't supposed to fall for the rebel heir, especially when he made it clear he didn’t want to cross the line with me.

As the temperature turned cooler, the nights became hotter. My summer became a lot more interesting - and complicated.

All good things must come to an end, right?

Except our ending was one I didn’t see coming.

Rebel Heir is the first book in the Rush Series Duet. Book Two, Rebel Heart, will release six weeks later on May, 22, 2018.

I finished it.

I honestly feel like this book was trying to teach too many lessons that I just felt like I was getting lectured. I could not relate to the story at all and therefore could not fall for the characters. I also think the narrators had affected the way I perceived this book and I think it had me cringing at times. Despite this, there were parts I enjoyed and I was interested enough to listen all the way the through (though at times I found myself dreading through it). I would definitely say that the ending had my heart jumping and it made up for the several dull chapters before it.

Overall, it was a decent book that may be a hit or miss depending on the reader/listener.

Flirty & Dirty in all the best ways

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
🌶️🌶️🌶️

✔️ Bad Boy/ Good Girl
✔️ Workplace romance
✔️ Slow burn
✔️ Tension & Angst
✔️ Cliffhanger

I hadn’t read anything by either of these authors before, but Rebel Heir was a pleasant surprise. Sebastian York and Maxine Mitchell never disappoint; they did a fantastic job with the audiobook. The story of Rush and Gia was well written and developed. The tension and build up between the two definitely kept me interested. Their banter was funny, and the self realizations that both made along the way made their characters super likeable. The only downside for me was that it ended in a cliffhanger, which is not my favourite. I did enjoy them enough through, that I’ll still likely listen to the second book, Rebel Heart.

Ok

Not sure if it was the book or the female narrator that was off. These authors are so amazing as is Sebastian York the female was awe full and her male voice was even worse. Would like to see how the story ends however cannot listen to her again.

I'm just over Sebastian York

I am buying titles that are interesting or look fun and yeah, just cannot handle Sebastian Yorks' voice - he sounds bored, he sounds too old for the character he is playing, and I find his voice flat and offputting.
He and Andi Arndt are just so overused....we need more variety. I don't care how much you like an actor, they can't be in everything. PLEASE bring some new people into the mix.

Amazing story Hot Slow Burn with Cliffhanger 🔥

I usually don’t adore Maxine Mitchell’s narration because she kind of sounds like a very anxious chain-smoker but she did a pretty good job on this book. However, Sebastien York is the king of narrators for the sexy AF deep voiced male heroes. You can’t go wrong. This book has a lot of fun banter/dirty talk and sexy teasing, the chemistry between both MCs is out of this world hot 🔥 If you don’t mind a well placed cliffhanger that makes your jaw drop than by all means this audiobook is for you. Prepare to laugh, cry and burn for these characters. It’s a very good story!

Good Story

The story was well narrated, but sometimes I wanted to fast forward because it was slow moving. The book has funny elements in it and it had predictable moments. Looking forward to the next book.

Enjoyable

Although I found moments that were a little on the cheesy side, there was still lots of moments that I enjoyed and made me laugh. Rush's character is great. I thought the story was predictable until I got to the end. I was surprised. I'm looking forward to seeing what happens next!

Didnt make it past Chapter 2

Not impressed with the characters or dialogue or voices. Too much cringing as the book began. Can't finish this one.

I've been enjoying audibooks recently, especially romance and this one really tugged at my heart strings. it was beautifully written and I quite enjoyed it. beware to cliffhangers hater, though I believe it is a little predictable.
