Publisher's Summary

A former villain is living a quiet life, hidden among the masses. Miles has one big secret: He might just be the most powerful super in existence.

Those days are behind him. But when a wounded young lady unable to control her superpower needs his help, she shatters his boring life, pulling him into the one place he least expected to be—the Bureau of Superheroes.

Now Miles has an opportunity to change the place he has always criticized as women flock to him, creating both opportunity and disaster.

He is about to do the strangest thing a deputy director of the bureau has ever done: start saving supervillains.

As expected

Bruce you SOB, you just can’t stop producing top quality work, its both amazing and frustrating at the same time, the frustrating part being lack of new books haha, all jesting aside this is a great new series to add to your Bruce Sentar collection, if you’ve enjoyed his previous works then you will very much enjoy this. The harem elements are good, not too much detail and not to often but definitely tastefully done.

Excellent Acting and Story

I love the voice acting for this book. It is one of the best I have run into so far and I would listen to it again in a heartbeat. Gonna have to follow these actors.

As for the book itself:
It throws a curveball at the beginning as you have to adapt to a very different social dynamic from the real world it imitates. But it is a fun and interesting take on a world flipped on its head. Then add superpowers and it is pure fantasy. But the creativity of this title is AMAZING! I will definitely be getting the next one.
The main character has a compelling backstory and an even more compelling superpower. His main squeeze, as this is a romance novel (don't kid yourself), is also quite tragic but their coming together is so unique and makes 100% sense to me.
The author has such a fun mind, as he finds such interesting takes on superpowers and how they are utilized. Some seemingly great powers are useless in certain situations and others that seem useless are used in such varied ways to be perfect tools.
I don't know what could have been done differently but I feel like certain parts were too rushed and could have used more detail or fleshing out. But it might have messed with the pacing at the time. There is a balance that is missing that prevents a full 5/5 x3 rating. But I do Highly Recommend this book.

Meh

Reddit really hyped this book up so when I saw it on audio I was psyched. But meh. The first half was good. It started off great but the second half became cringe the MC started doing the opposite of everything he installed in himself because why? No reason. So this book I give a solid 6ish maybe 7.

P. S.
Someone tell the male narrator to stop grunting in my ears goddamn. Dude will have mid sentence grunts then end with a snort like he's some damn bulldog

p.p.s. //review edit. this entire book takes places in like a week or so. based on the amount of sleep scenes, "next day" and "hours later" that comes up so the "meh" for me is he met a girl and decided to change his entire self and confess his deepest secrets after 1 and a half days he meet her then to another girl 1 day after that so yeah....The sudden change from a hyper aware, secretive, recluse person to a cringe anime protag who cant live without someone (who hes known for literally 2 days) is beyond stupid. he went form "ill do anything to protect my secret" to "i can trust you" in the span of 2 days and the buildup to it actually happening is none existing not to mention the lame backstory what was given when we finally get to find out what happen on "the day my powers came". anyway im done. i might get the next book might not depends if i remember this book exist or i need something to listen when theres nothing else out. PEACE

how the heck...

this series is newer then a mages cultivation and yet this one is worse in every way. Ill agree with another review that the MC changes and overcomes trauma way to fast in this book it should of taken the entire book for for the character on the cover to get inside the social barriers the mc put up and earn a place in his life in a span of months not days what happens in this story is less believable then super powers being a thing.

Rude Manchild has Superpowers and a Secret

It is very hard to believe this was written by a man. Sounds like a man hating woman that it around wrote this. The MC starts out with a girl in his bed to maybe prove he is straight to start off with. I understand building an emotional wall but this guy wants to kill everyone women that flirts with him. I want to stop listening but based on other reviews he changes his bad attitude pretty quick. Thank god because imagen my point of view. Deep depression and next to no human contact because of bad case of ptsd from the war. So I can relate to a point. But this MC takes it too far for a simple secret of powers in a world where basically everyone and their mother has them. He is different. Forgetting the girl he meets seems like a one of a kind anti hero, making his point to be an asshole to everyone pointless. I like these what I call sexy books because they make me feel a little bit happy because in these style of books things work out in such a way you would give your left nut they would happen to you. It's like being poor a praying for money and watching a show were the MC's get more money then they know how to spend after suffering from being poor and they lose it all or waste it and in the end they are back where they started. It leaves feeling sick. I love that this style (male fantasy) leaves you happy for the MC and I fall asleep ending up dreaming the story I just heard and instead of the normal war nightmares I dream of something amazing full of love, sex and a sense of overwhelming happiness. Making the MC so overwhelmingly unlikeable destroys everything. I don't care how strong your walls are humans crave human contact and love. That's why in prison the worst thing you can do to someone is take them away from everyone forced to be alone with your thoughts with no way out. So in my artificial prison I have come to rely on these books. So when they start out like steamed crap. Not only have I wasted my time and money but I let that negativity into my small world. Maybe before putting something out there let a few people that won't kiss you butt read it first. Instead of wanting to kill everyone that flirts with him how about say thank you and keep it moving. Everyone keeps calling him a gentleman but he treats everyone very badly. It makes no sense. I really hope it gets better. If so I will update my review. As of now i'm at chapter 10 and the MC is still a D!@k. If it turns out he killed his secret boyfriend when he was a kid I won't be shocked.
update.. I just learned his all time biggest secret and my stomach hurts it so unbelievably stupid. Spoiler Alert he kills basically black superman because he went crazy. They call him a bad name and being a dumbass kid that does not try to set things right he steals a surfboard and some money, fakes his death and goes evil long enough to get rich. There are 3 hours left and I just can't. Why are men betrayed as being so weak no matter how powerful they are? He is like a god but acts like a pissy little manchild. Do better.

Saving me from boredom

I will make this short and sweet. This was a fantastic book I have listen to every book from this author that is available on audible, which are many, and I have yet to be disappointed.

Enjoyable

I enjoyed this book- the voice acting was very well done and helped add to the characters. It's far from the usual genre I listen to, but I gave it a shot on a recommendation and I will listen to the rest of the series as well.

OP MC super's book in reverse gender rolls

I gave it 4 stars because I think it's a 5 star book for the sale price of which I got it for.If I bought this book at full price along with the audible I might have been a bit disappointed.
I'm a fan of these fantasy erotica style genera peri originally had received this book as a gift from a friend. After reading the 1st few chapters I gave up on it thinking that the author was just rushing the story. It came with an audio book attachment . Raider raider, the voice actress, doesn't exceptional job of bringing all the characters together.
Alexander, the voice actor, does an excellent job of reading and bringing the main character the right punch to the dialog. The story is not complicated but what stories are anymore. This reads a lot like a graphic novel . It moves the story along. In short it isn't tolikin where you need a back story in every F and tree branch.. This is one of those nice move along stories.
My only suggestion is give this story a chance up to the 7th chapter. It was after the 7th chapter I went and ordered the 2nd book on audible and preordered book 3.

Disappointed

Partial read review (8 hours left):

This book is reminding me of Making Monster Girls in the worst way. Somehow, despite being twice his age, he is sounding and acting exactly like Zack from Dragon's Justice. Overall, the other characters seem normal so far but Miles is entirely too immature to be as old as he is supposed to be. It's getting better as it goes but it really has some tiresome moments all coming from the MC.

I honestly think Bruce is bad at starting books as I had some of these thoughts about Dragon's Justice as well. It really feels like he doesn't do a second draft as the intro for the three series I've tried have been consistently cringe-inducing. He plays with some fun concepts, which is why I'm still here, but the execution is lacking. I'd have to say the lack might be sincerity. I'm hoping he finds it.

great story and performance

the characters are all flushed out well, and the story has a good flow. I was really wondering about the MC's current situation, only to be smacked out of left field later... I do recommend this audiobook.
