Publisher's Summary

The Wallflowers

Four young ladies at the side of the ballroom make a pact to help each other find husbands...no matter what it takes

Proud and beautiful Annabelle Peyton could have her pick of suitors - if only she had a dowry. Her family is on the brink of disaster, and the only way Annabelle can save them is to marry a wealthy man. Unfortunately her most persistent admirer is the brash Simon Hunt, a handsome and ambitious entrepreneur who wants her as his mistress.

Annabelle is determined to resist Simon's wicked propositions, but she can't deny her attraction to the boldly seductive rogue, any more than he can resist the challenge she presents. As they try to outmaneuver each other, they find themselves surrendering to a love more powerful than they could have ever imagined. But fate may have other plans - and it will take all of Annabelle's courage to face a peril that could destroy everything she holds dear.

Love It!

Lisa Kleypas is one of my favourite historical romance authors and this is just another example why. The story works in such a way that the affection between the main characters is sincere and honest and that the challenges they face only bring them closer together. Not only is the novel on its own enjoyable, but the entire series is amazing. I like to think of it as the Marsden saga because, even though the Earl or his family isn’t in every book of the series, the series starts and ends with them. I recommend starting with Again the Magic, working your way through the Wallflower series, snap up the Hathaways, into the Ravenels and then ending with Devil In Disguise (though I hope there will be many more instalments!)

cute but a bit boring compared to her others

Not bad, nice light romantic read. I prefer her other books more. If you are looking for a romantic fix thats light this is for you.

Buyer beware

I purchased this book after searching for books Rosalyn Landon narrated as I like her voice. Unfortunately I do not like her American accent for 2 sisters in this that much. *Plus the series changes narrator further on and the other ones American accents are worse.
I had read this series in book form years ago and had forgotten 3 things. Some people prefer these things
1. You cannot easily flip past lewd scenes and this series gets more sexual each book.
2. The books flow into each other too much. Usually I like this tactic but it feels like a very large harlequin was split into 4.
3. This is the best of the series imho. The ending of book 2 that continues into book 3 is not believable nor makes sense. Since this is 1st of a series it’s important to think of it as a whole.
There is a ending for each couple. Some cute writing.

This is an abridged audiobook

I have read the Wallflowers several times and LOVED them so I decided to buy the audiobooks. Despite the description of "unabridged" on Audible, this is an ABRIDGED audiobook. It is missing several crucial parts which affect the flow of the story overall. I have given 1 star overall for this reason. I am hoping the other 4 books in the series were not falsely advertised.

Rosalyn Landor is a superb narrator so 5 stars for performance but only 4 for the story (because of it being abridged) - the full story is 5+ stars.
