Publisher's Summary
Sheriff Bree Taggert is both hunter and hunted in #1 Amazon Charts and Wall Street Journal bestselling author Melinda Leigh’s blood-freezing thriller of murder, rage, and revenge.
New sheriff Bree Taggert is called to a shooting in a campground shuttered for the winter. But she arrives to find a perplexing crime. There is no shooter, no victim, and no blood. No one but Bree believes the sole witness, Alyssa, a homeless teenager who insists she saw her friend shot.
Bree calls in former deputy Matt Flynn and his K-9 to track the killer and search for Alyssa’s friend. They discover the battered corpse of a missing university student under the ice in Grey Lake - but it’s not the victim they were looking for.
When two more students go missing and additional bodies turn up, Bree must find the link between the victims. She knows only one thing for certain: the murders are fueled by rage. When Alyssa disappears, Bree must race against time to find her before her witness becomes another victim.
What the critics say
“Not since Walt Longmire have I been so enthralled by a character! Sheriff Bree Taggert is tough, flawed and I want to see more of her! Well done, Melinda Leigh!” (Debra Webb, USA Today best-selling author of Trust No One)
“Outstanding! Suspenseful and filled with emotion, Leigh’s See Her Die kept me riveted all the way through to the shocking and heart-racing conclusion.” (T.R. Ragan, best-selling author of Her Last Day)

I like the Bree Taggert series. A bit of suspense, romance and thriller. Predictable happy ending for Bree but in this world you kind of need that. I will keep using my credits to listen to the whole series.

Enjoying this series
I like the way this author writes…without completely giving away the identity of the killer, she lets you see his/her actions & get into the head of the villain.
Looking forward to the next book.

I am enjoying the series
I really like Bree though sometimes she goes off script. It it nice to be into the series. It keeps me captivated. The male voiceover is a little hard to take sometimes and gives the male characters more of a blah feel.

Great Storytelling
I really enjoy reading books by this author and I liked who is narrating the story. I honestly had a hard time to stop listening as the story keeps you guessing who the killer is and why they did it and when you find out who and why there’s a new twist!

Love these books but…
The story is fantastic, not too twisty but compelling and interesting from beginning to end.
The narration is just so so. It is performed without the high notes that round out a presentation. Especially for Matt, he sounds like Eyore! Is he never happy? His whole characterization is a two note down beat. While I understand the challenges of a woman voicing a man’s lower register the voice she created for Matt makes him sound like a manic depressive. Unconvincing as a male romantic lead.

Sue Grafton vibes
I've been looking for a strong mystery series with characters I relate to and like since I read the last Sue Grafton book. This is it right here. I love the characters, and I love that this holds a light up to women taking on a typically male position in a small community where change isn't always welcome. And [spoiler alert] thanks to the author for not making us wait six books in before Matt's advances are accepted. :-)

SUCCESS FOR MELINDA LEIGH!!!
I'm a true fan of Melinda Leigh! This is a good series. I just wish there were more books currently available. I see that there's a new release in a couple of days and another in September. I'm looking forward to the continued story of Bree! The verdict is still out on the narrator, Christina Traister. There's one voice that is on the verge of being irritating. I won't put a name with that voice in case it doesn't bother other people. Maybe it's just me. But Traister isn't the worst narrator, but not the best either. But overall, a good story out weighs the narration, especially in this case.

almost perfect but...
New styles of narration are beginning to drive me nuts. Directing a narrator to pause more frequently (often in the middle of sentences) is extremely annoying. It's distracting from the complete sentence causing the reader to mentally pause to connect the two pieces of sentences.
I know this is coming from editors/directors because it's happened in more than one type of book. It's beginning to turn me off of audible books which is sad because I really don't have time to read. I may have to find another source.
Something else that they have begun in the last few years... removing the first "as" in comparisons. From someone who was raised with proper grammar, that is also very annoying. I guess book editors are deciding to rewrite the English language regardless of what we were all taught.
**@Audible: If you don't like these comments, stop doing what you're doing in the editing/production / direction of these books.**

Great book, poor audible
I love Melinda Leigh. I enjoy her mysteries and the fact that they killer isn’t always obvious. The book itself was great. The audible however, stinks. The narrater does a poor job of portraying Matt. He sounds MISERABLE. There’s no emotion to his character. I think it’s a very poor representation of the character. Leigh’s writing makes him incredibly likable. Traister’s narration makes him incredibly unlikable.

Super!
I read the first book in the series a few years ago and really liked the author's way of telling the story. Work this audio book I wasn't sure about the narrator right at the start, but it wasn't very long before I knew she was just as goos with her narration as the author is with the story. Melinda Leigh is now one of my favorite authors. She doesn't repeat things from book 1 over and over. She tells just enough to give a new reader enough background to understand the characters' histories while not boring someone who has already read the first book.

This author has really nailed it in this book.
She has woven several stories that seemed unconnected together to bring them neatly to a climactic end, solving several cases together. She writes o the kind of cop we all wish we knew! Bree is a female cop with vulnerabilities, heart and lots of grit.
Her characters show great development. I can't wait for the next instalment!

Wonderful mystery AND narration..
Another great Bree Taggert mystery. This one is about a serial killer who killed fraternity guys who made fun of him AND he killed his partner-in-crime, too. He was truly insane*******
No romance except for one kiss on the last page, and the F-bomb was used 29 times*******
As for the narration: Christina Traister is one of my favorite female narrators. Her emotions are great and her men sound like men*******
