Publisher's Summary

Sheriff Bree Taggert is both hunter and hunted in #1 Amazon Charts and Wall Street Journal bestselling author Melinda Leigh’s blood-freezing thriller of murder, rage, and revenge.

New sheriff Bree Taggert is called to a shooting in a campground shuttered for the winter. But she arrives to find a perplexing crime. There is no shooter, no victim, and no blood. No one but Bree believes the sole witness, Alyssa, a homeless teenager who insists she saw her friend shot.

Bree calls in former deputy Matt Flynn and his K-9 to track the killer and search for Alyssa’s friend. They discover the battered corpse of a missing university student under the ice in Grey Lake - but it’s not the victim they were looking for.

When two more students go missing and additional bodies turn up, Bree must find the link between the victims. She knows only one thing for certain: the murders are fueled by rage. When Alyssa disappears, Bree must race against time to find her before her witness becomes another victim.

Another fantastic suspense drama!💜

Melinda Leigh never disappoints. This is great storyline with all the drama, murder and mystery you’ve come to expect. So many crime scenes, evidence and bodies to process. Newly appointed Sheriff deals with personnel issues, officer shortage and personal trauma, all while trying to solve crimes in her county. Brilliant and very detailed investigation makes it so much fun following along trying to determine who did what and why. The narration was absolutely amazing. She really gets into each character and does a wonderful job narrating each one. This is book 2 and can be read as a standalone. I highly recommend this book/series. Sisters Spotlight 💜

Exciting

This is an exciting story, intense, raw and sad, with a lot of twists and turns. The characters are strong and captivating. Beer is the new sheriff, she is brave, smart, stubborn and honest, The story is like a roller coaster, that will keep you on the edge. Have to confess I love the Bree series and I can't wait for the next book. The characters, the plot and the narrator's voice make it one of the best action packed, suspense of the year.

Excellent sequel!

Great sequel, but will catch you up to speed of you missed the first one. If you did catch the first one, its not an overkill or waste of pages refreshing previous book. Narrator tries her best and does very well when reading a male's quoted speech, giving a drop to her voice making it easier to tell immediately if it is the main character or someone else. This keeps rewinding to a minimum to fully catch author's intent to convey the flow of conversations.

What's not to love?

Melinda Leigh is one of my trusted, go-to authors, so to say I was stoked when the Bree Taggert series came out is a complete understatement! So to now be able to pick up book #2 in that series, I was pretty excited! I was interested in this story from the moment I read the blurb about it, however, I kind of wish we didn't find out the whodunit, quite so early! It wasn't like it was early on in the book, but I just wish it would have been a little longer! However, the story was on the premise that a crime was committed, with no actual proof of the crime, so did it really happen? This book has characters you love, like Bree, Dana (even though we don't hear much from her in this book), Matt (what's not to love about Matt and his dog?), but then you also have some questionable characters, and then those that you just plain ole didn't like! It was full of diverse characters! I was super stoked to see some characters from her other series pop in as well! I love the fact that Bree is a take no crap kind of gal, however, has a horrible fear of dogs (with good reason!) but it just shows she's human and I really love her character! Plain and simple, I don't think Melinda Leigh could write a book that I didn't love and See Her Die was no exception! Now I really can't wait for the next book in the series to see where things go for Bree and her family! The narrator for this book, Christina Traister, fit the story perfectly! I have not been disappointed by one book that she has narrated! I think she really has a knack for what she is doing! Overall, excellent read! If you haven't already, you need to pick up the Bree Taggert series and indulge yourself!! You won't regret it!

Good Head Scratcher

I am totally loving the Bree Taggert character, as well as many of her sidekicks. She is a very relatable, very human, but still solidly butt-kicking book heroine. This novel, just like the first in the Bree Taggert line, was nicely done with a great plot that didn't have the reader feeling like they were losing IQ points with every page they read. Yet it also found a nice balance for readers that don't enjoy feeling like they need a master's level course simply to follow a good thriller line and it's characters like some authors do these days. To me, this is a great, fresh voice, and I'm all in.
