Guided by Countess Haalften, Shrubley seeks to master his Sage Knight essence healing powers even as vampyrs, monsters, and bandits ambush the party along the way.
But Shrubley's knack for enmeshing himself in grand schemes is without equal. He stumbles upon a plot to use rogue Dungeons to reignite the Demon Wars between monsterkind and the core races of Almora.
Few would expect the lowliest of all monsters to be the savior of both mankind and monsterkind. After all, how could one shrub stop a plot decades in the making? You could ask the serpentii the same thing—if there were any left.

Is this the Shrubbery the Knight of No requested?
As always Travis hit it out of the park with the delivery. (Sorry, I follow Travis' work to find new favourites :D) The man has a way of giving so much life and individuality to the characters.
I think, had I picked this up as a physical read rather than an audiobook I would still be gushing about the individually contained character arcs and growth that make Shrubley (Jr. Knight of Ni!) feel very alive. The characters have depths to them that I wouldn't expect from such a large group. It's as though you're getting to see each of them in the spotlight, weighing their options and caring about how it would impact the others in the group.
it seems like a 'duh' kind of comment at first glance, but I haven't felt this compelled to root for literary character in years!

I need more Shrubley!!
The characters in this story are so amazingly written, I love each one of them and I need to know what happens next!!!!!

Fun, light, good writing
There is something endearing about Shrubley and his team. I read a lot of LitRPG and this one is a surprising standout. If you want a casual, feel good, quality read this is a gem.
