Publisher's Summary
It all started during the time fairness of justice was only based on the color of skin and slavery was in place.
Carson was an orphan sold into slavery at very young age by the people who murdered his whole family. He became a man with a pure heart and a hurtful history. Carson never forgot that the world didn't count slaves as humans and never allowed them a voice. Whenever a slave spoke, it was followed with a battering consequence.
Carson met a well-educated woman, Pearl, whose mother was raped by a White man. She was left to raise a child with mixed blood. Pearl was sold into slavery by her stepfather while her mother was battling cancer.
Both Carson and Pearl were sold into the wealthy and powerful family in the South, the Maltors. They grew up together and helped each other overcome their hurtful pasts in a strange new place with evil eyes lurking around them. Separated, Carson was imprisoned and Pearl dedicated her time to help a broken family become whole again, all the while hoping that Carson would come and find her.
