About the Host

Shamier Anderson continues to command the screen - whether big or small - with his incredible talent showcased in a broad spectrum of work, from critically acclaimed projects, to pop culture tentpoles, to smart independent features. Anderson can be seen in the 2023 instalment of the John Wick franchise. He will next be seen in Season 2 of Simon Kinberg’s Invasion for AppleTV and most recently starred in Mo McRae’s directorial debut, A Lot of Nothing, and the Hulu/Onyx drama Bruiser, a film about fathers, families and toxic masculinity. Anderson is well-known on the small screen, having starred in the popular SyFy series Wynonna Earp as ''Agent Dolls'' as well as on the big screen from his work in Annapurna’s Destroyer, Saban Film’s City of Lies, Netflix’s Awake, the Spike Lee produced feature Son of the South and most recently in Halle Berry’s directorial debut, Bruised for Netflix.

In addition to his work in front of the camera, Anderson will co-produce the comedy feature film Super High via his Bay Mills Studios alongside the Lonely Island team, based on a story he wrote with Adam Mansbach. Anderson sits on the Board of Directors for The Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television, a national, non-profit, professional association dedicated to the promotion, recognition, and celebration of exceptional achievements in Canadian film, television, and digital media. Along with his brother Stephan James, Anderson launched The Black Academy, an organization that is the first of its kind in Canada created to celebrate, showcase, promote, elevate, and inspire Black talent locally. In 2023, Shamier was nominated for two Canadian Screen Awards, including Best Host, Live Entertainment Special.

This is supposed to be relaxing?

Started off with relaxing nature sounds, but the jarring toad mating calls a few minutes in were disruptive and distracting, and the toads don't even come close to matching the local fauna of Lake Chelan. The creative choice to include toads is questionable for a sleep-focused podcast. Disappointing experience.
