Publisher's Summary

Captain Bunn founded SOAR to develop effective methods for dealing with flight anxiety. Therapists who have found this phobia difficult to treat will find everything they need to give their clients success. Anxious flyers who have “tried everything” to no avail can look forward to joining the nearly 10,000 graduates of the SOAR program who now have the whole world open to them as they fly anxiety free wherever they want.

This approach begins by explaining how anxiety, claustrophobia, and panic are caused when noises, motions - or even the thought of flying - trigger excessive stress hormones. Then, to stop this problem, Captain Bunn takes the listener step-by-step through exercises that permanently and automatically control these feelings. He also explains how flying works, why it is safe, and teaches flyers how to strategically plan their flight, choose the right airlines, meet the captain, and so on. Through this program, Captain Bunn has helped thousands overcome their fear of flying. Now his book arms listeners with the information they need to control their anxiety and fly comfortably.

Fantastic for conquering fear of flying

I was very skeptical about this book but decided to give it a try on audible. Captain Tom says several times that the cure for fear of flying has been found and gives several reviews from people who were also skeptical. I was still skeptical. I did the exercises he said to do and I was still skeptical. Until I got on the flight and somehow, it actually worked! I was able to sit calmly in the window seat and look down - something I haven't been able to do for over 5 years! No panic, no worry, and I didn't even have to do anything on the plane - it was all built in from doing the exercises. I really do think he has the key to curing fear of flying and apparently it's been many years since there has been someone who he hasn't been able to help. I simply can't recommend this book enough.

wtf?

Decent book but the worst narration i’ve ever heard, by far. Seriously, who let this pass lol. This dude is constantly messing up words, repeating sentences, clearing his throat, SO annoying. There are full chapters where he will just pause and clear his throat for like 30 seconds. Didn’t even know this was allowed. Gramps needs a glass of water.
