Love this series

Honestly I usually have a harder time giving this 5 stars ⭐️ but even though it’s a simple & predicable book I really enjoyed it so it’s getting 5 stars ⭐️

In this book the 2 groups of high school kids the ones from the land and the ones who took the boat to get home, are all together and trying to come up with a plan to save their home town that was taken over by a gang.

Emily’s ex boyfriend who was trying to be a better person was shot and killed, and her new boyfriend David is having a very hard time with all the killing & death. But after they found some of the horrible things the bad guys had been doing, the kids decided what they had to do was worth it.

They came up with a plan and slowly started to free farm after farm, the adults didn’t want them to do anymore but they refused to sit back until everyone was freed in town. Then their kind friend Cooper was shot at the end of the book, just as the Canadian troops came into town to liberate them… a little late. But since Coopers dad was the one who let the bad guys in he didn’t feel comfortable staying so he planned on joining the soldiers once he was healed
Up.

I felt bad for Lisa and didn’t think her mom should have just got away with no punishment since she seemed to be the one making young teen girls have sex with the bad guys. Then for her to just go “work” with the soldiers was gross 🤢

Oh well even though most of those poor kids had crappy parents, the kids really grew and matured taking on more than any teen ever should have to!

They have become a close family and it’s been fun hearing their stories!
