Publisher's Summary

Narrated in duet by Alastair Haynesbridge and Sophie Daniels, this is the first book in the hilarious, spicy small town Queen's Cove series.

My arrogant fake fiancé? I can't stand him.

Cocky and charismatic Emmett Rhodes isn’t the relationship kind of guy, but now that he’s running for mayor of our small town, his bachelor past is hurting the campaign.

Thankfully, I'm the last woman who would ever fall for him.

We're total opposites—he's a golden retriever and I'm sharp and snarky, but he’ll cosign on my restaurant loan if I play his devoted fiancée. Between romantic dates, a prom night re-do, and visits to a secret beach, things heat up, and the line between real and ruse is lit on fire. I see another side of Mr. Popular, and now I wonder if I was all wrong.

We can’t keep our hands off each other, but it’s all for show…right?

A sizzling, hilarious, enemies-to-lovers fake dating rom-com with an HEA. This is the first book in the Queen’s Cove series.

Great rom-com, perfect narrators

Love this one - excellent introduction to the series! Very funny (especially the first act), and the narrators were perfectly cast for these characters. Highly recommend!

Just loved it

Stephanie Archer's Queen's Cove series is a favourite of mine, so I was very excited to see that it was being released in audiobook format as well. I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of this audiobook, and I enjoyed it so much I ended up buying it as soon as it was released. Both narrators do a great job with the characters and the story itself is fantastic. This was the first duet-style narration I've listened to, and while it took me a few minutes to get used to that style, it suits this book really well. I cannot wait for the next book in the series to come out on audio as well!

Low angst and fun, but lacking some chemistry

Cute and sweet small town romance. Fake dating, low angst and no third act break up.

I listened to the audiobook narrated by Alastair Haynesbridge & Sophie Daniels in a duet narration. Both narrators did a great job in this book.

I was scared with what I heard from this series that this was going to be too rom-comy for me, but the humor wasn't too much and there wasn't over the top situations that could have been cringy. And the spicy scenes were really good. You get here a dislike-to-lovers vibe were the two main characters try to get the upper hand on the other while maintaining a harmonious facade for their pretend relationship. A kind of similar vibe than in the movie The Proposal. There were no unecessary drama and the two main characters were pretty straightfoward with their feelings. Kudos to the author for that!

So, if all of this appeal to you, I'd say go for it! As for me, although I loved the movie The Proposal, this books didn't do it for me. I didn't have a bad time, but I didn't feel any chemistry between the two main characters, no tension and the "getting to know you and fall in love with you without meaning to" phase was missing for me. It went to dislike to lust to declaring their love without the slow built I usually like.

*Book written in 1st person, with dual pov.
