His investigation uncovers an account from 1889 of settlers homesteading in the Indian Territories of Oklahoma. A pervasive fear of snakes nudges a simple settler towards madness. Publisher's Summary
For the first time ever, the H.P. Lovecraft Historical Society has produced an audio recording of all of Lovecraft's stories. These are not dramatizations like our Dark Adventure Radio Theatre - rather, this is an audiobook of the original stories, in all-new, never-before-heard recordings made by the HPLHS' own Andrew Leman and Sean Branney exclusively for this collection. Working from texts prepared by Lovecraft scholar S.T. Joshi, this collection spans his entire career from his earliest surviving works of childhood to stories completed shortly before his death. All tales include original music by HPLHS composer Troy Sterling Nies. This audio bonanza features 74 stories adding up to more than fifty (50!) hours of Lovecraftian listening fun, professionally performed and recorded for your enjoyment.

Narrators are not only great voice actors but also have a passion for Lovecraft.
It’s Lovecraft, you are going to get some classic weird tales and myths from a prolific author. How it is presented to you is the key and Andrew Leman and Sean Branney are perfection. What’s more, as members of the HP Lovecraft historical society they have a passion for Lovecraft which carries into the stories.

I love Lovecraft and am thankful for the HPLHS for creating this audio compendium.
The only nitpick I have is that they read so fast, I had to turn the speed down to 80-90%

the performances were fantastic! HP Lovecraft used a lot of archaic language, and his sentences had tortured structure that would be difficult to read. It was truly a feet to hear that performed and performed well.

the narrators life to character
so I am only a story or two deep and something that really stands out to me and impresses me is the way the narrator reads in character. the subtle chuckles and stammers embody the characters feelings in a such a human way that the immersion is taken to a all new height. the narrators also disclose in the preface that they had some sort of theatre training and I'm finding that coming through is such a pleasant way. I don't think I've ever heard an audio book with the type of dedication to creating and maintaining illusions like this one.
