Annoying voice.
The reader's tonality sounded very arrogant and condisending, made me want to punch him in the face the entire time i was listening to the audiobook.
As far as content goes, i thought it was very interesting and very simple to follow, im looking forward to trying them out.

Read Eat to Live first
If you aren't familiar with any of his previous works, read Eat to Live first. This book seems to be the answer to criticisms and further questions. It is packed with studies, critiques of those studies and application to his message (if you prefer to see that kind of stuff than listen to it, get the kindle version). He also breaks down why other popular diets don't work (including eat to live vs. Paleo, Mediterranean, Wheat belly and Low Fat Vegan) and the redeeming qualities of those diets. This part was pretty interesting. In the last bit, he lays out the specifics of the nutritarian lifestyle. He gives suggestions for those who complain of lack of time to food prep. He also talks about how to prepare food so that it is very appealing. Some of the concepts are repeated but that's to drive those ideas home so that you recognize their importance. At the end I thought it was interesting how he also addresses his product line as to why so many products, their price and what it funds. It positively changed how I view his "brand."
The supplemental document is fabulous. Packed with lots of information and recipes. All the sidebars seem to be there as well as charts, images and more. I don't feel deprived of the kindle version with this document.
For performance, I would have preferred to hear Joel Fuhrman read the *whole* book (not just the beginning and end only). There were some medical terms that were strangely pronounced (unrelated to accent) and the speaker lacks the passion Joel Fuhrman has for his work. That passion would have made it easier to listen to although the speaker isn't terrible to listen to either.
Bottom line: I definitely recommend it.

YES, this is a another diet...
Let me start with by saying that I AM vegan and I have read nearly every book under the sun about the health benefits of veganism. Somehow the title of this one threw me off and I decided to give it a listen. And here’s the scrope:
Joel Furhman promotes a medium carb vegan diet, with up to 1.5oz of animal product per day. Yes, you read that correct.
Joel Furhman basically attacks John McDougall (without mentioning his name, but c’mon, we all know who he’s talking about) by saying his high carb, low fat approach was both extreme and unnecessary. So instead, he tells you to not eat rice (with the exception of wild rice, which actually isn’t a rice at all), no potatoes, no bread — eat mostly vegetables and no more than 4 oz. of nuts/seeds per day.
Oil is still demonized (as it’s processed crap).
In other words, it’s still a diet!
If you’re trying to learn more about a healthier way of living — for your body and our planet — read “Proteinaholic” by Dr Garth Davis instead.

The end of diet = Eat only vegetables and legumes.
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
While the information inside this book is credible, it is sobering and disappointing because it's clear to me that this "end-of-dieting" diet is something I will never be able to live by.
The skinny of it is that you need to restrict your diet to vegetables, legumes, fruits and if you really insist, and tiny amount of fish/meat. Some nuts and seeds are also fine and even recommended.
No oil, no sugar, no salt etc. etc.
The problem is that for most people it is a proposition that is way out of their reach, and will undoubtedly cause people to throw their hands in the air in despair... and change absolutely nothing.
It would be much better if there was some guidance on how to make some small adjustments that will lead you to get closer to that ideal nutrition, but there's nothing of that sort in there.
Was The End of Dieting worth the listening time?
Not really.

Dissapointing
Is there anything you would change about this book?
The narrator. It was touted as being narrated by the author and Chris Sorensen. However, there is only a short piece by the author, Dr. Fuhrman. This really ruined the book for me.
What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)
N/A
Would you be willing to try another one of Joel Fuhrman and Chris Sorensen ’s performances?
No.
Do you think The End of Dieting needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?
No.
Any additional comments?
I do have Dr. Fuhrman's other books. These books are read mostly by him. I appreciated the information shared. Mostly I appreciated his enthusiasm for the information. This is just a rehash of his previous books, with a lot of dry data disparaging other diet plans. The narrator made that even more tedious. In the end, I sadly regret this purchase.

Incredibly valuable information
This book made some great points and has considerably changed my perspectives on food and "healthy" eating. I was impressed by all of the empirical evidence used to support his points. The narrator is dry at points, and I do agree with another reviewer that said it would be cooler if Dr. Furman read the whole thing. Other than that, I really enjoyed the book, and I will definitely listen again to make sure that I got everything out of it!

Good info
Really liked the information it provided. I've been wanting to go vegan for a long time and have been looking for good books with great information. I don't give it five stars because if it's a book about nutrition I don't want to hear someone promoting products.

Prefer to hear the book read by the Author
I really enjoyed Dr Fuhrman's book "Eat to Live". It was well writ, and the way he read it you knew it was his own words. You could hear the passion he had for nutrition. This book is decent (so far, I'm not yet finished), but I miss hearing it from Dr. Fuhrman himself. Mr. Sorensen is an adept reader; no doubt about that, but I just feel like some of the authenticity is lost in translation so-to-speak.

Excellent content, disappointing narration
The actual message of the book was inspiring and invigorating. I plan to incorporate the eating style described here in my own life. However, since the ideas are so passionately presented, I would have loved to hear most if not all of it straight from the author, instead of the monotone narrator heard throughout 90% of the audiobook.

A true lesson
Would you consider the audio edition of The End of Dieting to be better than the print version?
I can compare from the print but I truly plan on going to go buy it, that's how good the audio was. Listening was great and truly inspirational I need to read it now. A must have. Wake up Dr Fuhrman has given us truth.
What did you like best about this story?
All of it. I felt as he was talking straight to me as a father figure who truly cares and with guidance.
What does Joel Fuhrman and Chris Sorensen bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Feelings and that connection reading will not bring you feel his words. I did.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The epilogue when he said if I came this far in the book he knew I was ready for this change in my life. He has given me the tools and he cares enough to share this. I felt those words.
Any additional comments?
I want to thank him for taking the time to respond to a request I made on his page, he suggested this book, it was the best advice I ever had and I'm 58years. I have lived half my life looking for someone who understands my desperation to get out of this life, he made me feel he cared and I felt all his words. I am ready for this transformation have been doing it already some but I am more committed to it know.
